Cold Weather Safety Reminder from the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department

Temperatures are expected to drop to around 36°F on Monday. While not freezing, cooler nights can still lead to unsafe heating practices and pose risks to pets.

🔥 Heating Safety:
• Keep space heaters 3 ft. from anything that can burn
• Plug heaters directly into the wall
• Turn them off when you leave the room or go to sleep

⚡ Electrical Safety:
• Don’t overload outlets
• Avoid running extension cords under rugs or through doorways
• Replace damaged cords immediately

🐾 Pet Safety:
• Bring pets indoors on cold nights when possible
• If outside, give them dry, insulated shelter and warm bedding

Let’s stay safe and look out for one another, Bartlett.
