🎉✨ Celebrating an incredible Bring Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day! 🎉✨

From touring our ambulance to mastering the firehose, experimenting in quality control, learning about spray towers and combustible dust, and building butterfly houses, today was jam-packed with learning and laughter! 🚑💦🔬🦋

We even had a build your own multivitamin (candy edition!) session - because who says learning can't be sweet? 🍬😋

And of course, the epic kickball showdown - parents may have clinched the victory, but the real winners were the memories made! ⚽🏆

A huge shoutout to all the amazing volunteers who made today possible. Your dedication and enthusiasm truly made this day unforgettable! 🙌 Thank you for helping us inspire the next generation. 🌟

What an incredible Earth Day celebration! 🌱 Today, our Belvidere employees came together to make a positive impact on our planet. Volunteers worked to clean up trash along Manunka Chunk Road, showing dedication to keeping our environment clean and beautiful.

But the day didn't stop there! We had three enlightening presentations:

🌿 Gustavo Paiotti M. Guimarães, Process Engineer Climate Change, shared insightful updates on greenhouse gas activities, reminding us of the importance of reducing our carbon footprint.

🐦 Celia Vuocolo, Stewardship Project Coordinator- Agriculture & Wetlands, New Jersey Audubon provided a fascinating update on vernal pools, highlighting the significance of preserving these vital habitats for our local wildlife.

🐝 And last but not least, Ernie Buel captivated us with a bee-autiful presentation on the essential role of pollinators, reminding us of the interconnectedness of all living beings.

To top it all off, we raffled off some amazing sustainable prizes, spreading awareness and encouraging eco-friendly choices in our community. 🎉🌎

Today we hosted our annual onsite contractor day! The group delved into crucial topics like SHE and Quality, reviewed the 2023 Contractor data, defined what "good" truly looks like, and reinforced our Life Saving Rules (LSRs). Planning, Safe Work Permits, and staying on course were key focuses. The Group Dialogue workshop fostered open discussions. It's through open dialogue that we continue to grow and ensure a safe and collaborative working environment.

Tonight, dsm-firmenich had a blast at Belvidere Elementary School's Family Math Night! We showcased the power of balance, using the MyPlate model to educate families about healthy eating habits. 🥦➕➖ Our interactive table combined math and nutrition to create the perfectly balanced daily plate, making learning deliciously fun! 🎉

🎁✨ Making a collective impact this holiday season! 🎅 Our amazing Belvidere NJ team came together to spread joy by dropping off a bounty of donated gifts to Warren County Department of Children and Families for their “Operation St. Nick”. 🤝🌟 Our Site bought gifts for 15+ families and an additional 5 large bags of extra gifts. Each present carries the warmth of the entire dsm-firmenich family. Proud to be part of a company that cares! - Last photo is ALL their donations so far! 🎄❤️

Sustainability is a core value for dsm-firmenich. Led by Victor Camporine the Belvidere ‘Green Team’ partnered with the New Jersey Audubon and US Fish and Wildlife to execute a Habitat Restoration Project. This project involved planting over 60 shrubs and sowing seeds at our newly installed vernal pools. These pools will act as home to wood turtles and attract amphibians and aquatic insects.

Our Site has five different and independent production Plants including fermentation, spray-drying operations, chemical operations and liquid premixing. Our site has it’s own utilities infrastructure for steam, electricity, potable water and wastewater treatment. On site are also supporting departments such as Engineering, Safety Health Environment as well as a large Quality Control and Assurance department. We’re one of the world’s leading producers of essential nutrients like vitamins, carotenoids, nutraceuticals and nutritional lipids; as well as solutions for the feed, food, pharmaceutical and personal care industries.

We make it our purpose to bring progress to life – by combining the essential, the desirable, and the sustainable.

Today we say farewell to our Site Director Floris Fooij. During the past 8 years his leadership has seen the site through numerous occasions. I would like to share some of the highlights here:
• Installation of the 2nd largest Solar Field on the East Coast of USA
• Safely making room for the future – Vitamin C building demolition plus other capital projects
• Embracing DICI (DSM Integrated Continuous Improvement) by implementing new technologies and systems such as our Maintenance PM
• Hosting various events – Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day, Earth Day, 50th Anniversary of Belvidere Site, Family Days
• Supporting local community initiatives – food bank drives, Good Will Fire Company, Belvidere Pool, Lions Club
• Promote employee health with upgrades to the site’s gym, activity clubs (virtual races during covid), and various lunch and learns.
His leadership saw the Belvidere Site through the pandemic and has set us up for success with the merger.
