Who is a Caregiver?
An informal caregiver is someone who provides care without pay. Examples of care include:
• Personal assistance (bathing, dressing, grocery shopping, transportation)
• Household tasks (cooking, cleaning, paying bills)
• Medication management (medication reminders, medication set-up)
• Emotional support
• Coordinating care services (Dr. appointments, meetings)
Who Is a Care Receiver?
A care receiver is anyone age 60 or older or has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder who receives support. This could be:
• A parent, spouse, sibling, aunt/uncle, cousin, grandchild, grandparent
• A neighbor, friend, church member, coworker, or community member.
