Thankful Earth Herbs is an herbal company, promoting medicine made with intention - from seed to bottle. Made with only 100% organic, non-GMO products.

The medicine that I make is all organically grown or ethically wildcrafted by me, Jaden Martinez. All of the products (seeds, grain alcohol, olive oil, etc) are 100% organic and non GMO, and made with the pure intention for people to educate their minds, nourish their souls, and heal themselves naturally with mother nature's abundant medicine chest. Cultivated and handcrafted in northern California, one ideal that I implement into the medicine I make is the belief that everything is interconnected, that every atom of every cell, every leaf of every tree, and every part of every thing is in direct relation with each other, interwoven into this beautiful, unique tapestry that is undeniably represented in nature... and through the field of astrology, we are given a deeper examination of that unified connection. Therefore, I concoct all of my products, most notably my flower essence, with that energetic imprint of the stars in mind.

Part 2 🌀

The slowness of winter and the end of pregnancy aside, I feel so enlivened, happy, and lit up to dance into 2023 with so much fervor for what lies ahead on this rainbow spiral path, all the seeds to be planted, all the dreams to awaken, all the beauty and messiness and lessons abound that lie ahead. And yeah, all this sounds cliche as F but it’s so damn true for me right now.

Chariot year for a Chariot/Cancer queen and a Water Rabbit year on the horizon (I’m a fire rabbit) so yeah.. I’m currently here for ALL of this🌹🐇🥳

If there are four wishes (NOT resolutions .. because again, let’s still sink into that winter stillness vibe) that are currently present for me it’s this:

- To call in a peaceful, safe and harmonious birth for my daughter in the nest and comfort of our own home
- To allow life to enchant the f*ck out of me, even more then it already has
- To work on releasing perfectionism in this virtual space and to just show up as my quirky ass self and know that the “right” people who find me here will be attracted to my light, which will thus foster collaboration and connection
- And to cut out the noise and the bulsh*t that’s not serving me and to be unapologetic about it.

Here’s to more mindless selfies just because, more silliness, more growth, DEFINITELY more Phil bombs, and more curiosity. Here’s to me and to you, babes. We got this! 😘🥂✨🌈

Part 1 🌀

Welp, y’all - here’s another 2022 reflection/welcoming 2023 post for your minds, souls and feeds ☺️❤️

Last year was, overall, a DAMN good year despite its minor challenges.

We called our daughter in at the beginning of the year, and now the culmination of that prayer - really, the full circle evolution of a connection with a spirit thats been in my space off and on for 12ish years - is at its apex point, on the precipice of the mysterious void that is birth, patiently and eagerly awaiting her earth side arrival.

And while the ebbs and flows of this pregnancy were slightly more physically taxing on my body than with my son, I know I can safely look back at this time and say that I truly owned my embodiment this time around. Maybe because this is my second time around (even though there’s still so much newness in the familiar), maybe because I’m having a girl and have been consciously telling myself I need to set an example of having genuine and profound confidence and love in and for myself, my body, my intuition and my passions.

Well, friends- I’m finally putting Thankful Earth Herbs to rest. It’s been a long time coming.. that I’ve admittedly been clawing and clinging onto to for dear life a few more years longer then I should have.
The first year started this business, 2013, was the same year I met my love and uprooted my life from Williams, Oregon to Garberville, California where my now husband was living on an 13 acre piece of land, two of which is nestled along the south fork of Eel River, that became a blank canvas for the seeds I had sown to sprout and blossom, and my dreams of having a thriving apothecary business to take flight (we still live there to this day).
I came down with trays of medicinal plants and a lot of hope, and for the first few years, it seemed like the sweetness of success and upward growth was showing itself to me.
Then my passions drifted elsewhere, my responsibilities became heavier (re: I became a mom), and the many different hats I had to wear running this business essentially by myself (save for my husband with vending set up and various other random tasks, which I’m super grateful for) were wearing me thin, leaving me depleted, tapped out and uninspired. I love making medicine so much for myself, my loves, my community, and I’ll never stop working with plants and fungi in this way and sharing it with others. But this particular iteration of my spiralic journey as an herbalist is coming to a bittersweet end.
This is an ending but feels less like a death and more like a rebirth - the lessons and dreams composted into new projects on the horizon (which I hope to share about in the upcoming months).
As of now, though, my goal is to officially close up shop in early January (hopefully before the birth of my second child). Hoping to get feedback from y’all on what you would like to see before then. Any particular medicines you’d like to see brought back out again? Story sales? Let me know in the comments ❤️.

v e r n a l v e r d a n t o x y m e l - a springtime staple to your family’s medicine cabinet 🌱🌿

This incredibly nutritious oxymel (oxymel = vinegar + honey) is an ally for all seasons, and made with fresh, young, leafy herbs found readily available in early spring's budding green landscape. Apple cider vinegar, on its own, is a remarkable menstruum to help the body absorb minerals, and when combined with the toning (tonic) qualities that many spring greens have to offer, this delicious
union helps the body to process and properly metabolize fats, via the lymphatic system, and clear out waste, as well as strengthening the uterine tissue. Add to that the sweet and delicious nectar of honey, and you have a remedy that is as delectable as it is potent. Rich in iron, potassium, and vitamin C, to name a few, this scrumptious marriage of sweet and sour, helps the body to process and properly metabolize fats, via the lymphatic system, and clear out waste.
One of my personal favorite things to do with this (as well as my ) is to use it as a base for various salad dressings as the flavor is quite tangy and delicious.
All herbs in this batch were consciously wild crafted on the land I live, love and steward in Humboldt County, California.

From Arts & Culture curriculum:
“Assemblage, a French word that means assembly (of things) is an artistic form where found objects project out of the base in a 3-dimensional way.. Assemblage is a form of art in the category of mixed media, where you use a combination of different materials to create a single piece.”
For this assignment, the goal was to make a human face. We got a little extra and made this a witch’s face complete with a pointy hat, and wrote the word “WITCH” out in stones. Such a fun mom and son home “school” project made with materials found on the land and beach we live on.

Still reeling from the high that was the . Standing in, really sinking into, the Carribean Sea while listening to my favorite band, , with the ones I love, is a priceless memory I will always hold dear. Never have I left an event with the sentiment of “taking what I found and learned and bringing it back into my every day life” so strongly. Currently channeling the bliss I felt and infusing it into all of my work and projects.. so mote it be, buttercup. String Cheese is always my heart and soul’s favorite reset button but this took the cake. The path ahead as never looked so promising and exciting, as sometimes annoyingly mysterious and unknown as it may be. Can’t wait for the day I get to return but happy to be back in the home space, grounding down, and sinking into the daily flow of Sabi Sabi Farm (my homestead, my sanctuary, the land I love and steward).

Many new visions, podcast episodes, creations, and the like on the horizon.. and of course, everything I intended to be “a January thing” is now “a February thing” maybe even “a March thing.” Here for it all as slow and steady as it needs to be. 🐢❤️
