A roofing contractor was cited for several OSHA violations in June (penalties of nearly $1.8 million). OSHA received a complaint after an employee (not wearing fall protection) fell off a roof, resulting in a fatality. The company was indicted for manslaughter and workplace manslaughter. It is so important to protect your workers by educating them and providing the proper protective equipment. We see this way too often! Some of these "marketing" emails and letters look very official as if they are coming from FMCSA. If you ever question an email you receive regarding your MCS150 update or DOT number in general, forward it to us so we can verify.

SCAM ALERT: Motor carriers, if you receive a letter saying your DOT number is not updated and to file through their link or you face a fine, this is NOT an official DOT letter. Filing is FREE on the FMCSA website www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration/updating-your-registration.
