One week ago today I arrived home from my Advanced Teacher Training with DeepFeet Bar Therapy - Ashiatsu Training and Barefoot Massage Training Training together in a community of dedicated massage therapists was inspirational as well as educational and clients this week said how much they enjoyed some of the new techniques I "remembered" from my original classes along with some new refinements.

Newly listed classes are up on my website all the way through 2026. LMT's I hope you'll check them out! I'm ready to share the absolute joy and ease and creativity that comes with doing Ashiatsu. After 13 years of massage, my body doesn't hurt and I promise, I can bring the deep pressure and the detailed work. My enthusiasm for Ashiatsu is as high as it was after my very first class and I want to share it with other therapists so you can all learn the magic of working with your feet!

FYI for my fellow LMT’s.

Oregon LMTs — Big Change Coming Jan 1, 2026

Right now:
✔️ We are ethically required to report prohibited or unsafe conduct (see ORS 687.095 & OBMT ethics rules).
❌ We are not legally mandated reporters of child abuse… yet.

Starting Jan 1, 2026:
🚨 Oregon law adds Licensed Massage Therapists to the list of mandated reporters of child abuse.
👉 That means if you have reasonable cause to believe a child is being abused or neglected, you will be legally required to report (ORS 419B).

🔑 Many LMTs think we already are — but this shift makes it official, with legal responsibility.

Now’s the time to:

Learn what “reasonable cause” looks like.

Review how and where to file reports.

Update your ethics + boundaries training.

📚 Sources:

ORS 687.095 (duty to report prohibited conduct)

ORS 419B.005 (child abuse reporting law)

HB 3819 (2025 law adding LMTs as mandated reporters)

👉 Share this so other Oregon LMTs can get ready and start asking the right questions.

We’re excited to welcome Carlee to Sole Purpose Massage. You can book appointments with her on SUNDAYS starting APRIL 6th. 🙌🏻

Carlee is a graduate of the Sage School of Massage Therapy and Esthetics (2020) who has a deep passion for healing and movement. Her love of dance and yoga naturally led her to explore the intricacies of kinesiology and anatomy, fueling her commitment to working with the body through massage.

Dedicated to alleviating both chronic and acute pain, Carlee offers a nurturing, therapeutic approach that skillfully blends techniques from Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage to Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage, DeepFeet Silks, Traditional Thai Massage, Hot Stone Therapy, and Cupping/Guasha—to craft a personalized experience that meets each client’s unique needs.

When she’s not sharing her healing touch, you might find Carlee flowing through a 26&2 yoga class, frolicking in the outdoors while foraging for mushrooms, tending lovingly to her garden, or losing herself in a good book at the library.
