Surprise! Baby boy due in July! ✨ We are super excited (and a little terrified) of this next adventure. Eeeeee!

More things if you like to read: Today is officially week 23. We are feeling kicks (!), everyone is healthy, and I’m finally feeling more like myself. That said, pregnancy is definitely one of the hardest things I’ve done in my entire life. Did not expect to be largely debilitated by nausea and every single smell and food item for roughly 18 weeks, but hey here we are. Pregnancy is wild. Sending love and so much respect to all pregnant and people who have given birth. You’re all incredible ❤️

"Eating emotionally, which conventional wisdom says is dysfunctional and even pathological, is actually just a normal part of being human. We don’t turn to food in response to negative feelings because we’re broken or out of control, or because food is addictive. We do it because it’s one of many ways in which we (even the most balanced eaters) cope, and in the grand scheme of things, it’s a pretty harmless one." Give this a read!

Oftentimes, we see/hear something, and immediately jump to, "how can I change by body!?" Instead, could you just pause for a moment, and try asking, "how can I show my body respect?" or "how can I care for my body today?" ⁣🤗⠀⠀..⁣⠀⠀
This could look like: ⁣⠀⠀
- eating carbs at most meals because you know they give you more energy⁣⠀⠀
- skipping a workout because you feel tired⁣⠀⠀
- getting really sweaty at a workout because it feels good to move⁣⠀⠀
- taking the time to have a snack instead of skipping it ⁣⠀
- preparing a couple meal ideas ahead of time so that you have quick food when you get home from work ⁣⠀
- eating according to your hunger/fullness cues ⁣⠀⠀
- making sure you get enough sleep so that you feel energized throughout the day ⁣⠀⠀
- eating food that is satisfying and delicious ⠀⠀
⁣...⁣⠀⠀
These immediate must-change-my-body thoughts will inevitability come up. BUT, if we can take a moment, challenge the thought, and reframe it, we can make truly life-enhancing decisions❤️⠀⠀..⁣⠀⠀
Thoughts? How can you practice caring for your body this week?👇🏼

When I work with clients, we talk a lot about their intention with movement, or exercise 👇🏼⠀⠀⠀..⠀⠀⠀
Questions to think about: ⠀⠀⠀
- would I be doing this activity if it didn't change my body at all? ⠀⠀⠀
- WHY am I doing this activity? for fun? for more energy? dig deep in the why here⠀⠀⠀
- does this activity serve as punishment in any way? ⠀⠀
- do I stress TF out when I miss a day?⠀⠀⠀
- does this activity physically cause me pain? ⠀⠀⠀
- am I exercising in order to "burn off" my food? ⠀
- do I skip events to make sure I get my workout in? ⠀⠀⠀
- do I exercise when I am sick, and/or tired? ⠀⠀
- is my activity helping me live a better life? ⠀⠀..⠀⠀⠀
If some of these questions cause you to pause for a second, it may be time to reevaluate your current relationship with movement ❤️ In the end, I want you to choose activity that brings you joy, that makes your body feel good, serve as something that enriches your life, and connects you with others. ⠀⠀
🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ If you're here for this!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
ps. I'm accepting new 1:1 clients! If you want to improve your relationship with food & exercise, send me a DM 😘 ⠀⠀⠀

Body and/or weight comments are not ok✋ Whether talking about weight loss, weight gain, or the shape of someone else's body, talking about and centering body size is harmful for many. Anddddd, it still happens. Allthetime 🤦‍♀️⠀..⠀
So, what can you do when these types of comments arise? Here are some ideas👇🏼..⠀
> Simply walk away. Don't engage. The other person will get the idea. ⠀

> Change the convo, and don't acknowledge the comment at all. "Did you watch x last night?" ⠀

> Respond with a boundary. "I don't engage in body talk anymore, can you tell me about xyz?" ⠀

> Respond with education. "Mom, I love you a lot, and when you make comments about my body, I feel xyz. I've felt a lot better recently reading and listening to podcasts about intuitive eating. If you're interested, I can give you some recommendations" ⠀..⠀
What else has worked well for you? Let's support each other here 🤗🤗⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ps I’m taking new 1:1 clients! Click the link in my bio to learn more or dm me with questions! 😘

Q: How do I eat (insert food of choice; for ex. a burger) without feeling guilty?👇🏼⠀..⠀
A: You practice eating burgers. When you want them, as much as you want. Maybe you can make a plan to eat burgers x times per week. You could also start to question where and when you learned burgers were on your s**t list, and if that's something that's true and helpful for you. You could ask questions like, "what am I really afraid of when eating a burger? How is this impacting my life?" As you eat them, I'd encourage you to think about what you like about them, what you dislike, how they make you feel physically and emotionally, how much of the burger you need to feel full and satisfied, trying to stay non-judgmental with what you discover. This takes time, practice and support ❤️⠀.⠀
With intuitive eating, you have unconditional permission to eat all foods. And when you can stop worrying about whether a food is "good" or "bad", you'll become more present in your life. And that's a damn glorious thing 🙌🏻⠀..⠀
Now, let's chat. What is the best burger you've ever had?👇🏼👇🏼⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
