When Laurel and Oscar were preparing to move to Touchmark, they unexpectedly found the perfect new owner for their beloved Nordic skis.
As part of the move, they invited Kyle Rood, a local furniture restorer, to their home. During their animated conversation, the topic turned to skiing, and eventually to the old wooden skis resting quietly in the corner. Kyle, a passionate Nordic skier who loves the classic style, immediately recognized what he was looking at. Before long, the antique Eggens had found a new home with Kyle!
He even competed in Bend’s annual Tour de Meissner, a 30-kilometer “classic-only” ski tour, using the skis! Thank you, Kyle, for coming to Touchmark and sharing stories of your races and the fascinating history of these skis! ❄
