Awbrey Dental Group is headed to the valley to donate a surplus of personal hygiene items to those affected by the Oregon wildfires. We are grateful for all of the men and women fighting fires day and night! Our hearts go out to all of those who have had to evacuate during these heart breaking times. We are keeping you all in our thoughts.

Our hearts are breaking for all of those affected by the wild fires in Oregon. We are keeping you all in our thoughts!

We would like to help by donating some home care kits to one of the evacuation sites. There is a large amount of necessities we are needing to get to Salem in the very near future.

We are posting to see if any of you are heading to Salem, Oregon in the near future from Bend and would be willing to take these items to those in need at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. We have contacted their facility and they are one of the largest evacuation sites at the moment and are currently accepting supply donations.

In addition, if anyone else would like to contribute any items to be sent over the mountain, please feel free to bring them by our office at 965 SW Emkay Dr. Suite 100, Bend, OR. 97702. or contact Morgan at 541-383-0754, we will make sure they are safely delivered.

We will continue to send our support to the men and women fighting these fires and keeping the ones affected in our thoughts.

Dr. John Luke Covalt, DDS

I have had a deep connection with dentistry since the time I was born. Growing up, my mom worked as a dental office manager and still does to this day. Because of this I was able to feel comfortable in a dentist's office early in life, which many people cannot relate to! With this in mind, I work to make every patient feel comfortable in the dental chair. I strive to educate every patient so that they can make choices about their oral health with certainty and leave the office with assurance that they made the right decision. Building confidence in patients and trust with patients ensures that I can deliver the best dental care that we decide is right.
I moved to Bend with my Beautiful wife Megan and our 3 dogs, Murphy, Zeus, and Cobalt. We were lucky enough to visit Bend just before the Covid-19 lock down and moved here soon after, so we are ready to explore and see all of Central Oregon’s hidden gems. We enjoy the outdoors and will be hiking, camping, skiing, kayaking, and fishing everywhere we can. We cannot wait to become involved in this great community and give back when and where we can.

"I guess you could say I’ve grown up in dental offices. After graduating from Bend’s Summit High School, I attended Central Oregon Community College’s Dental Assisting program. With a few years of dental assisting under my belt, I decided to shift my goals to becoming a dentist. I wanted to be a dentist who patients felt comfortable talking to, and more so, comfortable seeing for any necessary treatment. I know that there is a lot of fear surrounding dentistry, and my hope is to make every patient’s experience a more soothing one.
In my spare time you can find me with my husband/high school sweetheart, Nathan, and our two young kids, Jasper and Fiona. I love exploring the great outdoors with my family, watching documentaries, playing video games, and drinking lattes. I am so happy to be raising a family in the bounty that Bend has to offer, and I can’t wait to give back to the community that I call home."

WE ARE BACK!

Hello to our Patients and Community! We are excited to be back together again and ready to serve you - who we have missed so much! As things begin to stabilize and the risks of COVID-19 become better understood, it is important to restart care that is currently being postponed. Effective Monday, May 18th we will be resuming all Dental Care.

We have been preparing, training, and ensuring every detail to your safety, and ours has been attended to. We are implementing the newest best practices and careful considerations including:

Pre-appointment COVID-19 screening

Strict social and physical distancing measures, such as minimizing time in waiting areas, and maintaining low patient volumes

Universal screening of all staff and patients with non-contact infrared thermometers

Rigorous cleaning and disinfecting, concentrating on frequently touched surfaces, and rooms

Universal Masking policy for all staff and patients

Medical-grade air filtration systems throughout our office and in each of our treatment rooms.

Awbrey Virtual Visits are LIVE!

For the betterment of both new and established patients, Awbrey Dental Group has implemented Teledentistry which enables us to serve our patients through Video or Phone Visits.

Awbrey Dental is available to see you for in-office Dental Emergencies as needed following an Awbrey Virtual Visit with one of our Dentists. It is our effort to keep dental emergencies out of our hospital emergency rooms during the COVID-19 crisis.

Awbrey Dental is fully prepared to provide Teledental Virtual Visits to both new and established patients. Our streamlined and user-friendly workflow makes having an Awbrey Virtual Visit with your dentist easy and simple through your phone, tablet, or computer!

To our patients and community. With the changing environment surrounding COVID-19. We are being required to limit all dental procedures to emergency care only. However, during this time our team remains available to serve you should you need immediate or urgent dental care.

Please be assured our office continues to operate under the Centers for Disease Control's Universal Standards of Precaution and our staff continues constant disinfection of all surfaces.

Our office will also be taking these additional precautions to ensure patient safety and the safety of our team:

All our staff are screened daily prior to patient care to ensure your risk for exposure is eliminated while in our office.

We will be implementing a “call to seat” protocol. Upon arrival in the parking lot, please call our office and we will let you know when you can be seated, this will eliminate any additional time in the reception area.

Unless you require assistance to your appointment, please arrive unaccompanied to reduce further possible exposure to additional persons.

All patients will be screened with a forehead thermometer prior to being taken into our clinic to ensure no fever is evident.

All patients will be required to use hand sanitizer prior to being seated in the clinic and offered hand sanitizer throughout as they may request.

All patients will be given a Hydrogen peroxide rinse prior to being treated in the chair to minimize aerosol exposure in our clinic.

Treatment needs will be assessed and treatment provided within as timely a manner as allowed. Please be mindful of your scheduled appointment time and be as timely as possible so we can meet the needs of all patients seeking care.
