💯 On top of that, Victoria Park has maintained 100% occupancy for three consecutive months, with a growing waitlist!

At Carnegie Heights at Henderson, a Brightwater community, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible impact of Dr. Richard Berman — a lifelong learner who helped bring Carnegie College to life: a resident-led, in-house lecture series that keeps minds sharp and curiosity thriving.

What started as one resident’s desire for intellectual engagement has grown into a beloved tradition, supported by our amazing team and embraced by the entire community.

From engaging guest speakers and mini courses to graduation ceremonies and lively conversations, Carnegie College is a shining example of what makes Carnegie Heights so special — vibrant residents, dedicated staff, and a shared commitment to joyful, purposeful living.

👏 Cheers to Dr. Berman, the team at Carnegie Heights, and all the residents who continue to inspire us every day.

Retired UNLV professor and Carnegie Heights at Henderson resident Richard Berman created a senior educational lecture series called Carnegie College.

On June 19, 1865 — more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation — the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were informed of their freedom.

Juneteenth marks a significant moment in American history — a day to reflect, learn, and celebrate the enduring strength and contributions of Black communities.
