A few members of our team had the opportunity to attend the FAN Luncheon—an inspiring event celebrating the impactful work happening across our community.

Pictured here are Amy Sugden and Robin Sanderson alongside Lora Nordquist from FAN. We’re grateful for the chance to connect, learn, and stand alongside organizations making a meaningful difference.

We love supporting and celebrating partners in our community who are doing important work every day. 💙

✨ Next up in our Staff Spotlight series... Meet Amy! ✨

Amy’s story is a powerful reminder of why our work matters.

“I truly love working for this company and the purpose behind everything we do. As a young single mom, I once lived in affordable housing. Having a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home changed my life and my child’s life. It opened doors and created opportunities I never would have had otherwise.

That’s why this work is so personal to me.

This company isn’t just a workplace, it’s family. We’re supported, valued, and genuinely appreciated for the work we do. The benefits are incredible, but even more meaningful is the culture of care, respect, and work-life balance. Leadership encourages us to thrive both professionally and personally.

I’ve worked for many employers over the years, and I know how rare this kind of environment is. This company is truly one in a million. I’m proud of what we do, and I’m grateful every day to be part of a team that feels like home.”

We’re honored to have Amy on our team—bringing lived experience, compassion, and heart to everything she does. 💙

We’re continuing our staff spotlight series — sharing reflections directly from the people who make our work possible every day.

Our team’s dedication, compassion, and collaboration are what make FFAH such a special place to work. Today, we’re excited to highlight Suzie and her perspective on what makes our workplace meaningful.

"I'm so grateful to work for a small-but-mighty nonprofit that’s out here changing the housing market for the better — helping create more affordable homes across the country and opening doors for families who need them most. We may be small, but our impact is big, and every day feels meaningful. The best part? I get to do this work alongside people who feel like my very best friends — solid, compassionate, purpose-driven humans who truly care. It’s the kind of place where heart meets hustle, where mission matters, and where showing up every day feels like both a privilege and a joy."

We’re kicking off a new staff spotlight series by sharing — in their own words — why FFAH is a great place to work. 💛

First up is Melissa, pictured here with her family:

"After 12 years at FFAH, and currently serving as COO, I can confidently say this is a truly special place to work. We are not only focused on serving families in our communities, but we are also a family-focused organization internally. We support one another, celebrate life’s milestones together, and lead with empathy and respect. That combination of purpose, people, and heart is what makes FFAH a Great Place To Work and I’m incredibly proud to be part of it."

We’re proud to work alongside such thoughtful, mission-driven teammates, and grateful for the care, creativity, and commitment our staff bring to our residents and communities every day.

Stay tuned as we continue sharing more employee voices throughout the month.

🌟 Did you know that 25% of our team has been at FFAH for six years or longer?

That kind of longevity matters. It means deep relationships with our partners and residents, strong institutional knowledge, and a team that truly understands the communities we serve. It also reflects a workplace where people feel supported, valued, and connected to the mission.

We’re proud of the dedicated staff who continue to grow with FFAH—and help ensure our work is thoughtful, consistent, and community-centered, year after year. 💙

Building Homes, Creating Communities, Enriching Lives

FFAH is a family run company created to positively impact other families and communities. We create safe, comfortable, high-quality, affordable homes that enrich the lives of its residents and communities and connect residents to educational, recreational, and social services.

“Home” is more than the roof over your head. Home is that corner of the world you can call your own – a space to find respite and to welcome your family and friends. By using creativity, flexibility, and perseverance, the Foundation has developed over 190,000 housing in 13 states.

The Foundation has three core activities; own affordable rental housing, partner with for-profit organizations for the ownership of affordable rental housing, and to serve its properties through the provision of resident services.

FFAH is a tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) public benefit nonprofit corporation. We ease the burden of State, County, and Local Housing Authorities through the construction, acquisition, and operation of low-income and senior housing. We use our years of hard-won experience to make the process as straightforward as possible. By focusing on the profitability and sustainability of each of our projects, we have been able to build safe and comfortable housing for those who need it most.
