JD Vance’s Elevated Ceres

Recently, during Trump’s unexplained absence from his daily media appearances, JD Vance said he was prepared to run the country. “Yes, terrible tragedies happen,” he said. “And if, God forbid, there’s a terrible tragedy, I can’t think of better on-the-job training than what I’ve gotten over the last 200 days.”

Given the growing concerns about Trump’s health, it’s time to have a look at Vance’s horoscope. Fortunately, we have an accurate birth time for him (8:11 am; August 2, 1984; Middletown, OH), which puts his Leo Sun in the 12th house where it conjoins the partnership asteroid Juno. Not surprisingly, Vance has made his way into the American political arena via his strategic partnerships.

Vance’s chart is unusual in that Ceres is the most elevated placement. The milestones in his life are closely associated with major transits and/or progressions involving his Ceres. For example, Vance first came to conservatives’ attention after his book Hillbilly Elegy was published in June 2016. At the time, transiting Pluto was forming a supportive trine to his Ceres, which is less than 4º from conjoining his Midheaven.

Vance’s natal Ceres forms a tight connection with Jupiter: Ceres is trioctile (135º) Jupiter (orb: 0º32’). Jupiter in ambitious Capricorn furthers his professional aspirations through fortunate financial affairs (Ceres in Ta**us). Vance made his political intentions known in December 2016 when he moved to Ohio and considered running for office. However, not until February 24, 2021 did he receive the financial assistance he needed to assure victory.

That’s when a super PAC was formed to support his run as the GOP nominee for senator. Billionaire Peter Thiel donated $10 million to this PAC which readily translated into victory by the time of the 2022 election. As this PAC was formed and the campaign rolled on, transiting Pluto (representing billionaires) was trine his progressed Ceres at 24º Ta**us.

Ceres continued to be front and center when Trump picked Vance to be his vice president on July 16, 2024. At this point, Vance had a double activation of his natal Ceres: transiting Saturn at 19º Pisces formed a nice s*xtile to natal Ceres, while his progressed Sun at 18º53’ Virgo was only 0º09’ from a favorable trine to natal Ceres.

Since Vance was born, his progressed Ceres has advanced a little over 6º, but that puts it at a critical point with respect to the national horoscope. Natal or progressed planets to the US Moon at 25º Aquarius (using the Scorpio Rising chart) are key to getting public approval and support. The national Moon represents the people’s moods, security issues, and instinctive connections to candidates and public figures.

Trump has his natal Venus at 25º Cancer and his progressed Jupiter at 25º Libra, which make the necessary emotional bonds with the American people (at least a faction of them). Vance has no natal placement at 25º, but now his progressed Ceres is at 25º Ta**us. As we have seen, activation of this Ceres brings major advances in his public role.

And that’s exactly what is shaping up over the next few months. Transiting Saturn is now retrograding through Pisces and will turn direct on November 27 at 25º09’ Pisces. For the entire months of November and December it remains in 25º Pisces and favorably s*xtile his progressed Ceres at 25º05’ Ta**us. This in itself is highly auspicious for increased recognition and support from his political allies.

And then on November 11, transiting Jupiter makes its retrograde station at 25º09’ Cancer, which is also very favorably s*xtile Vance’s progressed Ceres. As transiting Jupiter and Saturn station in November, they’re trine to each other and both s*xtile Vance’s progressed Ceres. All these interactions are also contacting the US Moon at 25º Aquarius. This suggests that over the next few months, something big is unfolding in the White House, and it’s very favorable for the vice president.

Trump’s Chronic Venous Insufficiency

What’s going on with Trump’s right hand and swollen ankles? After a round of dubious explanations, the White House Press Secretary read a note from Trump’s physician on July 17 saying that an exam “revealed chronic venous insufficiency” or CVI. Although the message added that Trump remains in excellent health, CVI is often associated with more serious conditions, including congestive heart failure.

Curiously, the announcement came as the transiting Sun was at 25º Cancer and squaring the outer planet Eris at 25º Aries. Trump’s natal Venus is located at 25º Cancer, so it was activated in a major way as the world learned that Trump has venous insufficiency. Normally, there’s no link between venous and Venus, but the cause of CVI is closely related to the conditions around Trump’s Venus.

Two weeks ago, I wrote about Trump’s top seven progressions, with #4 explaining how his progressed Jupiter brought him luck and protection. His progressed Jupiter at 25º Libra is tightly linked to the US Moon at 25º Aquarius, giving him close rapport with a faction of the American voting public. His progressed Venus at 24º Libra is nearly conjunct his progressed Jupiter, which only makes him more popular among his supporters.

However, these progressed benefics have a negative side, and that’s the tendency for self-indulgence. Eating rich foods is common, and Trump’s addiction to junk food comes under this heading. Note that Trump’s progressed Venus-Jupiter conjunction squares his natal Venus, which only increases his interest in packaged snacks and lack of interest in getting any amount of exercise to increase the circulation in his legs. Venus-Jupiter combos are renowned for provoking laziness, and in Trump’s case, swelling.

Traditionally, the 6th house is associated with health issues. Trump’s 6th house has 1º Aquarius on the cusp, and since transiting Pluto is now at 1º Aquarius, several astrologers have pointed out the possibility of serious health issues. These may become evident when transiting Pluto makes aspects to other natal or progressed planets around the chart while passing through his 6th house. And as noted in Trump’s progressions, he has his progressed Ascendant at 3º Scorpio squaring his progressed Saturn at 3º Leo. Transiting Pluto reached 3º Aquarius in May when it turned retrograde, and this is exactly when the swollen ankles became widely discussed in news reports.

Transiting Pluto returns to 3º Aquarius early next year, once again activating this underlying progressed condition. That tells us that this health issue is not going away and could very well be serious. However, over the next two months two simultaneous astrological developments are in play. The first is transiting Pluto stationing direct at 1º Aquarius while squaring Trump’s progressed Hygeia at 1º Ta**us.

Hygeia, the fourth largest asteroid, is named after the Greek goddess of health. In natal horoscopes, Hygeia’s activation when afflicted can show the timing of significant health issues. Her exact progressed position in Trump’s chart is 1º38’ Ta**us. Transiting Pluto turns direct on October 13 at 1º22’ Aquarius (in his 6th house). Over the coming two months, transiting Pluto will be less than 0º12’ from squaring his progressed Hygeia.

The second development is a conjunction between transiting Chiron and Eris at 25º16’ Aries, exact on October 8. Over the next two months, it will be less than ½ a degree from squaring his natal Venus and opposing his progressed Jupiter. Together, these two configurations unfold as the transits hit the progressions that align with the natal. Since the US Moon is also involved, these simultaneous multi-planet dynamics could very well coincide with a health incident that dramatically moves the national mood. The worst-case scenario for Trump is congestive heart failure.

September’s Top Five Astro-Events

1. Mercury enters Virgo on the 2nd and then forms an octile (45º) to Mars on the 3rd. Mercury is at its best in Virgo, bringing clear, methodical thinking that promotes practical, realistic, and useful plans going forward.

2. The three outer planets — Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto — are in harmonious aspects to each other all month. Transiting Uranus is at 1º Gemini all month where it forms a supportive trine to Pluto at 1º Aquarius all month.

3. The Lunar Eclipse on the 7th takes place at 15º Pisces and is intensified by the Moon’s octile to Pluto in Aquarius and sweetened by a quincunx to Venus in Leo. Relationship dynamics become more interesting and complex leading into this eclipse.

4. Chiron conjoins Eris in Aries for an extended phase beginning this month around the 6th and lasting through the end of October. In essence, Chiron — the Wounded Healer — is carrying Eris’s essence over the next two months, and in Aries, that spells trouble.

5. The Solar Eclipse on the 21st takes place at 29º Virgo where it opposes Saturn at 28º Pisces. This astro-event becomes a major landmark in the lives of those who come under its influence.

Trump’s Top Seven Progressions

As Carol Rushman wrote in her book The Art of Predictive Astrology, “I find that progressions are the key to all predictive astrology. I am surprised when I lecture and travel to find that many astrologers don't use them. Without progressions the whole story is not told.” With that in mind, let’s have a look at the top seven progressions currently in play in Donald Trump’s horoscope.

1. The primary one, as I have been describing since the 2024 presidential campaign, is Trump’s progressed Midheaven conjunct his 12th house Pluto in Leo.

The various terms used to describe Trump’s current administration have clear astrological associations. While totalitarian, dictator, and tyrant are directly related to Pluto, another popular label is authoritarian, which has more of a Saturn flavor. Although his progressed Midheaven conjunct Pluto is now waning in influence, Trump has two tightening Saturn progressions shaping up, which will keep him in an “authoritarian” leadership role.

2. The second top progression is his progressed Sun at 8º43’ Virgo octile (45º) his natal Saturn at 23º48’ Cancer.

3. Resonating with #2 is his progressed Ascendant at 3º35’ Scorpio squaring his 12th house progressed Saturn at 3º41’ Leo.

Although Trump’s approval rating continues to drop, somehow he continues with his unprecedented power grab. Astrologically, he has natal and progressed connections to the US Moon that represent his sway over segments of the American people and their security needs.

4. Trump’s progressed Jupiter, now at 25º28’ Libra, precisely trines the US Moon at 25º28’ Aquarius (using the 2:21 pm Scorpio Rising chart).

Trump has three Mars-related progressions that move him into an aggressive Commander-in-Chief role:

Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show” Cancelled

Stephen Colbert is not going quietly. Paramount, the parent company of CBS and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, paid Donald Trump $16 million to settle a lawsuit against 60 Minutes for editing an interview with Kamala Harris “in a deceitful way”. Paramount needs Trump’s approval for its proposed merger with Skydance Media. Evidently, part of the lawsuit deal was to fire Colbert, a constant critic of Trump.

Colbert was born with his Sun in stable Ta**us and his Moon in witty Gemini on May 13, 1964. His Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter are also in Ta**us, giving him a natural attachment to his physical birthplace, which is Washington DC. This pre-programmed his comic routines with political satire. Unfortunately, AstroDataBank doesn’t have an accurate birth time for Colbert.

However, in my files I have 10:02 pm, but without any accompanying comments. I don’t know if I rectified that time or picked it up somewhere without noting the source. In any case, the time looks good and here’s why. It gives him Sagittarius Rising, which adds a playful, luminous quality to the otherwise more conservative, solid, calm Ta**us traits. It also puts Black Moon Lilith near his Ascendant, a key ingredient in any comedian’s arsenal for teasing the line between expectations and the wild unknown.

Lilith is given depth and the potential for being a real troublemaker by its square to Pluto in Virgo. With his penetrating insights into political realities framed in biting satire, Colbert makes audiences laugh, often uncomfortably, until they realize just how true his remarks are. Colbert was the host of The Colbert Report on CBS’s Comedy Central until CBS picked him as the 2015 replacement for The Late Show.

It marked a major milestone in Colbert’s life, and these kinds of life changes are generally seen astrologically through major transits and/or progressions* involving the Midheaven. A 10:02 am birth time puts his Midheaven (MC) at 5º47’ Libra. An early example of how this Midheaven has played out arrived when Colbert was only ten years old: on September 11, 1974, his father and two brothers were killed in an Eastern Airlines plane crash. At the time, transiting Pluto at 5º59’ Libra and was right on Stephen’s Midheaven (orb: 0º12’).

On April 10, 2014, CBS announced that Stephen Colbert would replace the retiring David Letterman as host for The Late Show. Colbert’s progressed Midheaven, which advances about one degree per year, was at 23º33’ Scorpio at this time where it made a near exact alignment with his Ta**us Sun (orb: 0º14’). And then when Colbert was fired last month on July 17, his progressed Midheaven was at 4º18’ Sagittarius where it formed a harsh square to his natal Saturn (orb: 0º06’).

One more example: on October 16, 2007, he announced on his show that he was running for president, to which he received thunderous applause. It was a spoof, sort of, unless something really came of it. At the time, his progressed Midheaven was at 17º22’ Scorpio where it made a tight trioctile (or sesquiquadrate, the 135º aspect) to his natal Venus, the ruler of his Midheaven. Also, transiting Jupiter at 16º40’ Sagittarius was exactly conjunct his Sagittarius Ascendant (orb: 0º10’).

Currently, transiting Saturn is near Colbert’s 4th house cusp, the point of endings and new beginnings. It becomes exact in April 2026, only one month before the last scheduled show. However, Colbert’s chart is showing some sharp disruptions before then as well as major opportunities. Many colleagues have spoken out in support of him and against Trump’s political manipulation of mainstream media.

One cautionary development is the activation of his 6th house Hygeia, the asteroid associated with his health issues. Hygeia squares his Saturn-Uranus opposition which has given rise to periodic bouts of anxiety. With his progressed Midheaven now opposing his Hygeia, he’s in that nervous area now. His monologues have become increasingly attack-oriented (mostly at Trump), and CBS recently threatened to cancel his show immediately after one distasteful vulgarity.

But then, transiting Jupiter in Cancer is nearing his progressed Sun at 21º Cancer, a promising combination that could bring him his next gig, a dream fulfillment opportunity.

Ghislaine Maxwell’s Twelfth House Ceres

Will Ghislaine Maxwell name names? Will Trump pardon her? Will the Supreme Court hear her case about appealing her conviction? Will she testify before Congress? The former socialite and co-conspirator with Jeffrey Epstein reportedly knows more about who participated in their s*x trafficking ring than anyone else alive. And she wants to talk, but only after a series of demands are met.

Ms. Maxwell was born with her Capricorn Sun in the 8th house of inheritance along with her Mercury, the ruler of her chart (with Gemini Rising). A Venus-Mars conjunction near her Sun emphasizes her natural charm and s*x appeal. The Sun and Mars in Capricorn are only 3º apart, an energetic combination that gives her stamina, ambition, and organizational skills. She has achieved much success since her Sun-Mars favorably trines a Lilith-Uranus conjunction in Virgo.

Before her arrest and conviction, she was widely referred to as a prominent socialite. This becomes evident from her socially engaging Jupiter in Aquarius right on her Midheaven. Jupiter aligns with her Leo Moon, which is where she gets her most obvious personality traits. These include a queenly aura, a love of luxury and pleasure, an optimistic and sunny disposition, and basking in the center of attention.

The Moon in a woman’s chart can also refer to her role as a mother, which Maxwell played out so well with the young girls she groomed for wealthy clients. The hidden criminal intent for all this comes from the squares to her Moon-Jupiter polarity: Ceres in her 12th house is located at 12º Ta**us and is exactly opposite deceptive Neptune at 12º Scorpio. These four placements create a Grand Cross, which is the key formation in her chart.

Ceres is specifically associated with the mother-child relationship and indicates how she cared for and nurtured the young girls, many of whom voluntarily participated in the s*x ring. In Ta**us, Ceres promises stability and financial security to the down-and-out waifs she found. Ceres’ tight opposition to Neptune shows where the deceptions entered the process, and how ruinous the results often were. Ceres becomes a high-value point of focus because it’s also part of a Grand Trine. Her ability to build this hidden empire is supported by Ceres’ trines to Mercury (the ruler of her chart), and trines to Lilith and Pluto in the 5th house of pleasure and casual s*x.

As Maxwell went through her second Saturn Return in the 9th house of legal affairs, she was arrested, convicted, and sent to prison. With an army of lawyers, she managed to draw out the process for two years after having successfully evaded the police for a year. She was finally arrested on July 2, 2020 when transiting Saturn was at 29º Capricorn and just one degree past her natal Saturn.

She was convicted by a jury of s*x trafficking on December 29, 2021 when Saturn was at 11º Aquarius and one degree from squaring her Ceres-Neptune opposition. On June 28, 2022 she was sentenced to 20 years in prison with transiting Saturn at 24º Aquarius (in the 10th house of judgment) octile (45º) her natal Mercury. Also, her progressed Mercury* was exactly conjunct her elevated Jupiter (orb: 0º10’), which represents the judge’s dictum in this case.

With a Gemini Ascendant, we know she likes to talk. Her progressed Sun is now at 8º Pisces and entering a s*xtile to her natal Mercury, ensuring that she will have the chance to express herself over the coming year. In accord with her natal Mercury-Pluto trine, she has strong negotiating skills and will likely get at least some of her demands for testifying.

Over the coming five months she has a progressed Midheaven-Neptune aspect: a quincunx at 13º Aries and 13º Scorpio. Under this devious dynamic, we may never know if she’s telling the truth, or what underhanded deals were reached during this entire process. Along this line, note that Trump’s Mercury at 8º51’ Cancer is precisely opposite Maxwell’s Mercury at 8º51’ Capricorn (orb: 0º00’). This could infer that she gets a pardon in exchange for not implicating him.

August’s Top Five Astro-Events

1. The Full Moon on August 9th unfolds as Mars aspects the chain of four outer planets. Mars in Libra energizes this Full Moon in the Leo/Aquarius polarity as it opposes the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries, trines Uranus in Gemini, and trines Pluto in Aquarius – all in the span of just a few days.

2. Saturn s*xtiles Uranus on the 11th, but this outer planet combo is a strong influence from the 1st through 24th. This favorable duo is one half of the four outer planets linking up this summer.

3. Mercury turns direct in Leo on the 11th and goes on to form a constructive, active s*xtile to Mars in Libra from the 12th through 19th.

4. Black Moon Lilith forms a challenging aspect to Neptune on the 22nd, a trioctile (traditionally known as the sesquiquadrate or 135º aspect). Due to Lilith’s relatively slow advancement, this highly imaginative, mysterious combination is in effect from the 15th through 28th.

5. Ceres is octile (45º or semisquare) Uranus on the 23rd, but this dynamic duo is in effect all month with Ceres turning retrograde on the 11th. This can be a stressful combination within family relationships, especially in the parent-child bond.

Epstein’s Mercury as the Epstein File

With much of the news pivoting on the Epstein File, this s*x offender’s natal horoscope is worth a look. Problematically, we have no exact time for his birth on January 20, 1953, but a Scorpio Ascendant fits with his lifestyle and physical appearance. He became infamous for the many wealthy, high-profile clients on his list, and this fits neatly with having Jupiter in Ta**us sitting right on his Descendant, the 7th house cusp of “others”.

After some finetuning, a speculative birth time of 1:20 am fits his personal history well. With this chart, Pluto conjoins the Midheaven where it pushed him to dominate his professional life, to be the ultimate authority. Pluto is strongly supported by a Saturn-Neptune conjunction in the 12th house. Some of the wealthy clients he met while running his own financial consulting business helped him build a covert s*x trafficking ring.

Scorpio Rising (also Moon in Scorpio) has the most intense, undeniable s*x drives of any astrological placement. Epstein’s Venus-Mars conjunction in Pisces only intensified this instinctual need. It’s highly accented by the close octile (45º) to his Capricorn Sun. He readily found outlets for s*xual expressions since his Venus-Mars trines his Scorpio Ascendant. This beneficial configuration is enhanced by several harmonious aspects around his chart that support his image as a fun-loving jetsetter.

Eventually, his elevated Pluto s*xtile his 12th house Saturn-Neptune conjunction evolved into the largest s*x trafficking ring, ultimately involving thousands of girls and an unknown number of wealthy, famous clients who comprise the Epstein File. Mercury, the natural ruler of files, lists, and documents, can be associated with the Epstein File. As one might suspect, Mercury’s closest aspects are to the Pluto-s*xtile-Saturn-Neptune.

Naturally, as the ruler of his chart and the most elevated planet, transiting Pluto marks key turning points in Epstein’s life. For example, Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell became partners shortly after her father’s death in November 1991. At the time, transiting Pluto was at 21º Scorpio and exactly squaring his natal Pluto. Ms Maxwell went on to become his lover and groomer of underage teen girls over the next 27 years.

Another example: Epstein was first arrested for s*x trafficking in July 2006. On July 19, the Palm Beach County grand jury heard testimony from two underage girls, and then gave Epstein an infamously lenient jail term of 19 months. At the time, transiting Pluto at 24º Sagittarius was octile (45º) his Ascendant at 9º Scorpio, which in turn was conjoined by the favorable influence of transiting Jupiter at 9º Scorpio.

Most significantly, at the time of his suspicious death on August 10, 2019, transiting Pluto was at 21º Capricorn and almost exactly conjunct his natal Mercury (orb: 0º13’). Also, his progressed Pluto at 21º05’ Leo was only 0º03’; from being quincunx his natal Mercury at 21º02’ Capricorn. This double Mercury-Pluto influence emphasizes the so-called Epstein File. Reportedly, Epstein videotaped hundreds of prominent clients for blackmail purposes. These tapes are included in the mysterious Epstein File.

Even though Epstein died, his chart lives on. This explains why he has become such a controversial figure. His progressed Mars is now at 9º Ta**us and exactly opposite his Scorpio Ascendant. He’s been a key figure in the MAGA universe since the election, when transiting Pluto was conjunct his Sun. Transiting Pluto turns direct this coming October at 1º22’ Aquarius and makes a precise octile to his natal Venus (orb: 0º04’). This suggests that we can expect some young women to be in the news as they tell their stories about the Epstein File.

We can be sure that this case won’t go away any time soon. Indeed, it’ll likely intensify with Epstein’s progressed Moon now at 19º Scorpio and heading into a square with his Pluto over the next two months. And the actual Epstein File, in whatever form it currently exists, will likely be a political football over the coming month: Epstein’s progressed Moon completes a revealing trine to his progressed Mercury at 19º Pisces on August 12.

Manu’s Spider Sand Painting Replicated by Crop Circle Maker

Astrologers have long been speculating about what unique or unusual forms of communication would manifest when Uranus entered Gemini on July 7. But no one saw this coming. Only two days after Uranus entered Gemini, the sand artist known as Manu created a masterfully crafted image of a spider on a south Ireland beach. As usual, it washed away with the incoming tide. But the next day, that very image reappeared as a crop circle in an English wheatfield.

A look at Manu’s natal horoscope helps to frame this cosmic entanglement. AstroDataBank has no record of his birth, but he gave me his birth data through a private conversation. He was born as Manuel Frolich on June 8, 1969 in Santiago, Chile. The time was given as around noon: “My late mother always kept saying that I appeared in time for lunch on that very Sunday.”

Manu’s Sun in Gemini conjoins the asteroid Vesta, giving him a special sense of destiny, a special life mission that goes well beyond an ordinary wage job. His Sun squares Pluto, adding intensity and passion to his life’s work. And the closest aspect his Sun makes is an octile (semisquare or 45º) to Venus in earthy Ta**us. Venus, naturally associated with art, is grounded and given a practical side by its conjunction with Saturn. Venus-Saturn wants his unique style of Earth Art to last, to endure through time.

So why does Manu create ephemeral sand paintings that disintegrate with the next tide? Naturally, with the beach sands as his canvas and the slow washing away of his artwork, the sea god Neptune is involved.
