As exciting as this time of year can be, it can be too excitatory for our nervous system. This wonderful time of year is filled with lights, noises, differing routines - loads of unpredictability! Talk to your OT, re-visit your sensory tool box and be prepared with visual schedules. Bedtime and mealtime routines are even more important during this time of year! Ask your OT about the Safe and Sound program or other OT intensives leading up to, and during, the winter break. A little extra time can bring a lot of extra joy!
