A huge congratulations to Mel and Matt Briggs on another incredible Birkie! 🎿🏅

After months of training, comittment, and dedication, they crossed the finish line of the biggest ski marathon in the U.S.

Matt, your comeback from a herniated disc is nothing short of inspiring. All of your hard work in physical therapy paid off.

Here’s to many more start lines and strong finishes ahead- we are so proud of both of you!

Healing isn’t just about getting out of pain- it’s about coming back better.

After suffering a back injury, this client trusted the process and showed up every step of the way. Six months later they were back doing what they love.

We’re honored to be part of stories like this. 💙

Good rehab protects tissue early.
Great rehab prepares it for the real world. 🏃‍♀️🏋️

If your program never progresses past light bands, your body never rebuilds the capacity needed for sport or life. Progressive loading isn’t reckless — it’s necessary.
Rehab → Reload → Return 🔥

Girls are leaving sports at 2–3x the rate of boys as they get older. By high school, participation drops sharply — and in some sports, over half of girls quit before graduating.

This isn’t random.
It’s driven by access, confidence, and social pressures — and it’s fixable.

Lauren Fleshman has spent her career redefining what success looks like for women in sport—on the track and beyond. A two-time U.S. 5,000m Champion, coach, entrepreneur, and bestselling author, Lauren’s work challenges the systems that push girls out of athletics and offers a smarter, more sustainable path forward.

Her book “Good for a girl-A Woman Running in a Man’s World” —an instant New York Times bestseller—is both a deeply personal story and a powerful call to reform a sports culture that too often fails young female athletes.

✨ Join us for an evening with Lauren Fleshman as part of Keeping Girls in the Game, an open forum on why girls play, why they stop, and what we can do to change it.

Upcoming event at Capacity: Keeping Girls in the Game ⚽️🏀🏐

Featuring guest speaker Katie Steele, LMFT, co-author of The Price She Pays. 💥

A former highly recruited Division I runner at the University of Oregon, Katie’s experience in elite sport shaped her path into mental health advocacy. Now a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and co-founder of Thrive Mental Health in Bend, she focuses on integrating mental health into athletics and supporting athletes beyond performance. 🏃‍♀️

Katie’s work—and her book The Price She Pays—examines the mental, physical, and emotional costs of youth, collegiate, and elite sports for girls and women, including overtraining, disordered eating, and harmful coaching cultures.

She’ll be joined by Dr. Tiffany Brown, PhD, LMFT, and Ellie Meyrowitz, DPT, for an open forum exploring why participation is dropping and how we can better support girls in sport.

📍 When: Wednesday, February 18th | 6–7pm
📍 Where: Capacity PT — 150 SW Scalehouse Loop St 101, Bend, OR
📞 RSVP: (541) 224-7485 or info@capacitypt.com
