Lydia’s House is a residential drug and alcohol treatment center for women. The sixteen (16) bed center provides opioid detoxification, stabilization, and residential treatment services for women suffering from substance use disorders, and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Lydia’s House is operated by Addiction Recovery Care, based in Louisa, Kentucky. Lydia's House provides clients with over twenty (20) hours of clinical programming weekly, with counseling provided by licensed counselors and peer support groups led by state-certified peer support specialists. State-certified case managers will work with each client to improve their recovery environment by addressing family, educational, housing, and vocational needs. Medical care will be provided at Lydia's House, with each client seeing a nurse practitioner weekly for their medical needs. Lydia's House’s medical staff is supervised by an American Board of Addiction Medicine certified physician, Dr. Michael Fletcher. Lydia's House is located on Maggard Street in Benham, Kentucky. Lydia’s House was built in the early 20th century as a boarding house for coal miners. Later, it became well known locally as a place that anyone in need could go to receive a home cooked meal from Granny Lee, who owned the house. It was purchased in 2007 from donations collected by Diane Durham, who had a calling from God to renovate it and provide a place to help broken and hurting women.
