Croc has arrived from Darlington via a good samaritan that found him walking along the road. She kept him for 12 hours with no owner found. He is 2-3 years old, 39.6lbs and heartworm positive. He is a sweet handsome boy, very friendly and walks well on leash. If you are missing him, please call. Must prove ownership.⚠️We remain overcrowded and need to make space on our big dog run. Our large breed dogs longest on grounds and our cats remain at high risk of euthanasia.⚠️We are receiving new animals faster than we can find homes for those with us since September and October.

Our Story

Dr. Hal Trimmier came to Bennettsville via Spartansburg in 1953 and hung a shingle downtown behind the court house. He worked Saturdays all day for a long time b/c that was when the hustle about the cotton town ensured that business would be productive. An avid golfer, he would take Wednesday afternoons off, like most businesses in this small town did, and played 9 or 18 holes of golf at the local course. He was an honest, hard working man who loved his profession, was always available for a foreign body removal on the weekend or to change out a nose pad, he loved his new home town and never wanted to leave. He joined forces much later with P*e Dee Eye Associates in Hartsville to offer a broader range of eye care and the latest knowledge from recently graduated optometric physicians. Dr. Johnson joined P*e Dee Eye Associates as a traveling contractor in 2004 then committed to devoting all his time as owner of Marlboro Eye Care Associates in 2007. As many of you may know, Dr. Trimmier went to be with the Lord in November of 2017. He is surely missed for his humor, his always calm demeanor, and his love for his neighbor, which extended well beyond Lakeland Drive. I hope that I can be half the man that Dr. Trimmier was.
