October 19 to 25 is National Infection Prevention Week. This week is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of infection prevention and control (IPC) in healthcare settings and communities. We bring awareness by wearing our red t-shirts promoting hand washing and not touching your face.

Every October, we celebrate National Case Management Week—a time to honor the professionals who guide patients and families through some of life’s most challenging transitions. Case managers play a vital role in ensuring that seniors receive the right care, at the right time, in the right setting. Their compassion, coordination, and expertise are the foundation of person-centered healthcare. Thank you to all our case managers for being such wonderful community partners.

ELVIS is in the building! The residents were treated to Donny Elvis who performed Elvis Presley classics and delighted the residents with his great voice, smooth Elvis dance moves and the ladies even got some scarf souvenirs. He was so generous with his time, posing for photos with several residents after the performance. The smiles didn't leave the resident's faces all afternoon and we look forward to having him back. Thank you, Donny Elvis, for a wonderful afternoon.

Mr. Sax-o-phone came by this week, in his baseball themed attire, and entertained the residents with some great oldies.

It was therapy dog day! A favorite day of the residents and they got to shower the beautiful pups with lots of love and pets.

We are having beautiful weather, but the garden needs a good drink of water, and the residents are ready to pitch in. If they are not flexing their green thumbs, then they are enjoying an afternoon activities craft.

The summer is going fast! Before July ended we celebrated Christmas in July with lots of activities and treats for the residents. Thank you to Mr. Ding-a-ling for coming by so residents and staff could enjoy their choice of frozen treat. Activities included a Christmas cookie contest judged by the residents, games, tattoos and more. It was a beautiful day enjoyed by all.
