We are excited to announce a new addition to Advanced Eyecare starting in January 2026! Dr. Smith will be seeing patients out of all three of our office locations. Call today to get an appointment with him!

Dr. Smith received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine and then completed a surgical internship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Subsequently, he served as the surgeon to the army’s 4-7 Cavalry Squadron in South Korea. Following that, he completed a residency in Ophthalmology at Walter Reed NMMC. He was honorably discharged in 2021 after 9 years of service, most recently in Tacoma WA. He has been practicing medicine in New Hampshire for the last 4 years in the Concord area.

Dr. Smith is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist experienced in providing cataract, refractive, glaucoma, oculoplastic, and trauma eye care. He has particular interest in cataract surgery with experience in providing multifocal, extended depth of focus, and toric intraocular lenses.

Dr. Smith is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a diplomate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

We are beyond pleased to welcome back Linda Lavigne as a part-time Optician! Linda is well known in the surrounding community with many years of experience working at Moulton's Spectacle Shop for 15 years, with us as an Optician in our Manchester location for 11 years and then at Walmart Vision Center for over 5 years. We are so happy our paths have crossed again and Linda is helping us! Please stop by and see her on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Bennington office!

Dr. Ryan Shea comes to us from the island of Martha’s Vineyard where he practiced for almost 20 years. Attracted by the natural beauty and slower pace of Vermont, Dr. Shea traded the oceans for the mountains moving with his wife and three boys.
Having spent most of his career practicing in a remote and rural setting, he has learned that rural doesn’t need to mean limited. Dr. Shea takes great pride in giving patients access to the most cutting edge technology and up-to-date medical knowledge in a way that makes vision and eye health understandable and collaborative.
When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Shea is exploring the outdoors of Vermont with his family, training jiu jitsu, cooking and gardening.

💥Advanced Eyecare is now accepting new patients in all of our offices!!

We are excited and pleased to welcome Dr. David Phan, OD to our Practice.

Dr. David Phan was born and raised in Toronto, Canada and received his undergraduate degree in biomedical science with a minor in psychology from the University of Waterloo. He then trained in optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry and practiced in Chicago after graduating. In 2024, he moved to Vermont with his wife and found a quieter, peaceful life.
Dr. Phan practices primary care optometry with a particular interest in ocular disease. In his free time, he enjoys reading, learning new things and being out in nature. He appreciates great storytelling in all its forms and a well executed home cooked meal. His weakness is sweets.
