On Earth Day, we celebrated a true original—Ellen Mae Feehan turning 101 years old. And in classic Ellen fashion, when asked how she feels about being 101, she replied: “Not much different than being 100. Just a few more aches.”

Ellen’s story is one of joy, generosity, and a life lived fully. From dancing with the Bristol Rockettes in high hats and canes, to handmaking lap blankets for those in nursing homes—never imagining she’d one day call a senior living community home—she has always led with heart.

After last year’s unforgettable birthday wish of riding a motorcycle, Ellen kept the momentum going this year with a new goal: dancing the 2-step with her therapist, Jace. And yes—wish granted.

At 101, Ellen reminds us that life’s best moments don’t stop—they just keep getting sweeter. Happy Birthday, Ellen— to a woman who makes the world brighter simply by being in it.

April 6 marked the birthday of Lynne Katzmann’s grandmother, Oma. A true original, Oma survived two world wars, ran her own business in the 1920s and rode her motorcycle well into her 70s. Lynne chose April 6 to launch a bold new vision of what it means to grow older.

Nearly 40 years later, our veteran leadership team carries Oma’s spirit into everything we do. But what truly sets us apart is the depth of experience we have gained over these 38 years, having navigated an evolving industry and the journey of getting older together.

Our strength lies in our shared history, providing the deep roots for a strong culture and a pioneering spirit to keep pushing boundaries and exploring new possibilities.

Meet Holly Sharman, our Director of Wellness for the Cottonwood and Wellspring neighborhoods! Holly’s nursing career began with a persistent mentor who personally drove her to register for school, sparking a lifelong passion for caregiving. She now brings that same heart and determination to our community, ensuring every resident receives compassionate, personalized care.

Beyond her leadership in wellness, Holly’s background includes seven years as a volunteer firefighter, five of which she served as the only woman on her squad. This experience perfectly reflects her belief that courage and compassion go hand in hand. When she isn't leading her teams, she enjoys hiking and spending quality time with her family and dogs.

For Holly, nurturing the spirit of life means living to the fullest and helping others do the same through dedicated support. Our Connections team led a hands-on craft where residents wove and decorated their own miniature baskets—perfect for keepsakes, candy, and treasured trinkets. A simple activity, beautifully done, and ready to be shared with family over the holiday weekend!
