This is really sad and close to home. I’m thinking the powerline worker would’ve known that live wires on the vehicle would’ve been a problem with him stepping out and becoming the path the ground. It was probably just a knee-jerk reaction. Electrocution is one of our focus four. We have too many workers killed by the powerlines each day. Powerlines actually account for 46% of our country’s workplace electrocutions. Stay away from them … and if they are on your vehicle, do not step out until they are deenergized!

We are learning all about fallprotection! Unfortunately, falls are the biggest killer according to the United States Bureau of Labor statistics. 46% of our fatalities are slip,trip, fall related. Having a harness that fits properly and passes an inspection is extremely important!

Please train your kids (family & friends also) on lockout tagout because the employers don’t always do it!! This was a 26 year old young lady here in NC. The company did get $185K in OSHA fines. Please contact me if you need training for your authorized and affected folks!
