Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Part Time
Reports To: Clinical Supervisor
Overview:
The Radiologic Technologist performs x-rays for diagnostic purposes. Follow established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities for the radiologic technologist include the following. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time with reasonable accommodation.
1. Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Es**rt patients to the x-ray room, provide verbal instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety, and comfort during procedure.
2. Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination. Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
3. Use radiation safety measures and protections devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
4. Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to Practice Manager or supervisor.
5. Maintain adequate radiologic supplies.
6. Serve as back-up for clinical team members as needed by controlling patient flow, performing EKG tests, obtaining vitals (blood pressure, weight, temperature,etc), and documenting vitals in the EMIR and administering injectables ( B-12, testosterone, tb test,etc.)
7. Perform all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSTION REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent - required
Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology
Radiologic Technologist experience - preferred
ARRT certification - required
Special Skills/Equipment: Experience with DR system. Demonstrate the skills to provide age appropriate care to all patients. Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements, and regulations. Knowledge of radiologic safety, cleanliness, and infection control policies.
Expectations: Attendance and punctuality is necessary. Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team. Ability to problem solve, and is self-motivated. Must have a commitment to excellence and high standards. Must have excellent written and oral skills, strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills. Must have ability to multitask, manage priorities and workflow. Required to have versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing environment. Ability to pay acute attention to detail. Able to operate computer software and training. Expected to have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to understand and follow written/verbal instructions. Able to work independently with little or no supervision. Required to have the ability to deal effectively with a diverse mix of individuals’ at all organizational levels and external acquaintances.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
1. Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting and supporting patients.
2. Exposure to virus, disease, and infection from patients and specimens in working environment.
3. Scheduled based on operational need.
4. Required to work extended periods of time at a computer terminal.
