Today, we celebrate more than a retirement, we celebrate a legacy.

After 20 years of dedicated service to our communities, we honor Peg Freiborg for the compassion, commitment, and impact she brought to public health every day. Her work helped strengthen families, support communities, and make a difference in countless lives across our region.

We also recognize the many retired employees who helped shape Countryside Public Health into what it is today. Public health is built on people who care deeply, work tirelessly behind the scenes, and leave lasting impacts that continue long after retirement. We were honored to have these Countryside retirees join us last week to Celebrate Peg's retirement!

Thank you, Peg - and thank you to all of our retirees (pictured here and beyond) - for the legacy you leave behind and the foundation you helped build for future generations. 💙

Earlier this week, Kiona Hermanson, Community Health Strategist, and Ashley Hibma, Prevention Educator, shared how local opioid settlement dollars are creating real impact across our communities at the Opioid Settlement Strategies Summit.

From supporting local organizations through community grants to bringing Positive Action programming into area schools, these investments are helping build healthier, stronger futures right here at home!
