🏀 More Than a Game. A Movement.

Riverwood Center was proud to help make the Slam Dunk Stigma event truly impactful for our LMC students and the entire LMC community. Events like this go beyond the court. They open conversations, break down barriers, and remind students that mental health matters every single day.

Together, we’re building a community where it’s okay to talk, to ask for help, and to support one another. 💚

🧠 You’ve probably heard someone say they’re “left-brained” or “right-brained.” It’s a popular idea that personality or strengths come from one dominant side of the brain. In reality, our brains are designed to work together. Logic, creativity, emotions, and decision-making all rely on connections across the entire brain.

➡️ That’s an important reminder. Behavioral health isn’t just about thoughts or feelings alone. It’s about how the whole brain processes experiences, relationships, and stress.

During Brain Awareness Week, we celebrate the science that helps us better understand the brain and the care that supports people in living healthier, more balanced lives.

Hello Riverwood Center!

The Council for Change is excited to announce our First Give-Back Night of 2026 thanks to our friends at Silver Beach Pizza in Saint Joseph!

Go to Silver Beach Pizza on Monday, March 30th and show a copy of the attached flyer and/or mention the give back at payment. The give-back runs for the entire time SBP is open that day and includes both dine-in and carry-out orders. SBP will donate 20% of all orders from customers who show the flyer and/or mention the give back to Riverwood's Council for Change.

Tell your family, tell your friends, tell complete strangers (but be careful and maybe give them a flyer!)

Thank you for supporting Council for Change!

Tonight we spring forward, moving our clocks ahead one hour. It may feel like we lost an hour of sleep, but the trade-off is longer evenings and more daylight to enjoy.

Season changes and time changes can affect how we feel, so take a little extra time tomorrow to focus on rest, movement, and the routines that support your well-being.

March is National Criminal Justice Month. It is time to talk about what is really happening. 👇

About two million times each year, people with mental illness are booked into jails. Nearly 2 in 5 people who are incarcerated have a history of mental illness. That is about double the rate of the general population. And 70% of youth in the juvenile justice system have a diagnosable mental health condition.

We support and work with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and invite you to be part of the movement for help, not handcuffs too! Education. Advocacy. Real reform. Let’s push for diversion, treatment, and dignity. ❤️ Learn more. Speak up. Be part of the change.
