The InterCare Student Health Center is on the campus of Benton Harbor High School.

We serve students in the Benton Harbor School District as well as surrounding communities ages 5-21.

Any child 5-7 years old who comes in for a well child visit before September 1 will be entered in a drawing for a Lego set! February is School-Based Health Care Awareness Month! Your Benton Harbor Student Health Center provides health care, physicals, immunizations, counseling and referrals to students in the area from age 5 to 21. The staff includes nurse practitioner Michael Jaskiewicz, nurse Ashley Sharpe, therapist Roberto Overton and coordinator Freddie Carouthers. The center, located in the annex building behind the high school, is open Monday through Thursday from 8 to 5, and Friday from 8 to noon. The Benton Harbor Student Health Center is a school based clinic that provides affordable medical care and mental health counseling for young people in the surrounding area. BHHS graduate Curtis Porter credits the center’s staff for providing “unwavering support and care.” “Their kindness and professionalism,” he writes, “made all the difference in my academic journey, and I cannot thank then enough for their invaluable contributions to my well-being and success.” During his high school years Curtis joined and became president of the health center’s Teen Advisory Committee.

The Benton Harbor Student Health Center is a school based clinic that provides affordable medical care and mental health counseling for young people in the surrounding area. BHHS student Jaidon Lacy has used the health center and is impressed with the staff. Beyond just providing care, the staff have coordinated with his teachers when he needed more help. Now Jaidon contributes as well as a member of the health center’s Teen Advisory Committee.

The Benton Harbor Student Health Center is a school based clinic that provides affordable medical care and mental health counseling for young people in the surrounding area. Greg Jones started going to the center as a sophomore for counseling. He went on to join and a then help lead its Teen Advisory Committee and worked to improve his community. Greg praised the center’s staff. “They are very supportive and helped prepare me for my future.” Greg is now a motivated student at Lake Michigan College.
