We need to tell you about Wild Rice Retreat Center.
Because this isn't just a venue we rented. This is a place with a story—one that mirrors the work we'll be doing together in September.
It started as a dream of something extraordinary.
The Wild Rice Restaurant—dreamed into being by Mary Hulings Rice and designed by acclaimed architect David Salmela—became a north star in the culinary world. James Beard-nominated. Chef Jim Webster, a four-time semifinalist for Best Chef.
They came for Michelin-level excellence on the shores of Lake Superior.
But somewhere along the way, the founders realized something:
The space was calling for more.
The land—100 acres of forest meeting the lake—wanted to hold more than just extraordinary meals. It wanted to hold transformation.
So Wild Rice evolved. The restaurant was reinvented and a Retreat Center was born.
A place designed for you to come home to yourself.
Here's what awaits you:
Architect David Salmela didn't just design buildings—he created spaces in conversation with the land. The accommodations at Wild Rice are Scandinavian-inspired and utterly stunning.
Every detail is intentional. Every element invites you to slow down and be here.
And the food?
That legacy didn't disappear—it transformed.
At Root, the onsite kitchen, nourishment is a core pillar. The culinary team creates clean, light, intentionally developed flavors with a creative, handcrafted.
Every meal is designed to fuel your body and your soul. To create warmth. Connection. A sense that you're being cared for at the deepest level.
This is the container for our work together.
A place that holds you while you shed the old stories and step into the new ones.
Yoga, Sacred Sound Journeys, Meditation, Rest, Sacred Land, Nourishing Food, Nature.
