Today is a very special day, it is National Caregiver Appreciation Day. Stilley House is blessed with some of the BEST caregivers you will find. Their approach to resident care is individualized, intentional, and impressive. Our caregivers go the extra mile to ensure our residents are not just cared for, but also loved. Our caregivers are the first people our residents see in the morning and the last face they see at night. And they are under the careful watch of our staff while they sleep. I know that brings peace of mind for our Stilley families.

Caregivers...saying thank you does not cover the appreciation we have for you. But thank you!

Our hearts are broken…there will never be another Jack Bragg. Jack came to live with us at Stilley House several years ago and we’re not sure the house will ever be the same without him. He was just one of those people who worked his way into everyone’s heart, residents, team members, families, visitors…everyone loved Jack. At first glance you’d say Jack didn’t have a lot of family and he was alone but in reality, he had the biggest family of all, they just weren’t blood relatives. His family was his friends, county employees he worked alongside, his ladies at the courthouse, his friends from auctions and yard sales, and later in life, his family at Stilley House. Jack was blessed and he was loved. He loved to talk, he loved to read, he loved to walk, and he loved to go to auctions and yard sales collecting treasures. If there was a yard sale within walking distance of Stilley House, he was there, and usually brought us back a thing or two. He cared, he loved, and he looked after those around him. A constant friend and best buddy. He will be missed immensely but we find comfort in knowing he’s reunited with his sister, he’s missed her so much since she passed. Our thoughts go out to all his friends and family, especially Ms. Shirley, who did her best to assist Jack with all his affairs. Until we meet again buddy…

Please join us in congratulating our 4th quarter 2025 Stilley Ambassadors. Maddie Starks, Lead Culinary Specialist and Sharon Gipson, Culinary Specialist work tirelessly for our residents. Not only are they resident focused, they are also team centered, working together to bring smiles to our resident’s faces. Both integral parts of the Stilley House family, we are so incredibly proud to name them as ambassadors.

Our hearts were full of sadness as we heard of the passing of one of our beloved residents who left our community not long ago as his care needs increased beyond our scope. Michael was one of those people whose gentle and caring nature could be noticed within minutes of meeting him. All his life he took care of others and none of that changed when he came to Stilley House. He often looked after those around him, a calm protector. We’ve missed him since he left us but we know there were many Stilley friends who greeted him and in that we find comfort. Once a Stilley, always a Stilley. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Thank you for giving us the honor of being a part of his life.

On this Valentine’s Day, we thought we’d share a SWEET story. Meet our youngest Stilley and our oldest Stilley.

Magnus, son of Maddie, Culinary Specialist, at a whopping almost six months old and Sprout, our resident, at an amazing one hundred and one years and six months old.

These two are 101 years apart in age but love and friendship knows no boundaries. 💙💙
