Each time we lose a resident, it’s tough. But some, because of how long they’ve lived with us, hit extra hard. Effie called Stilley House her home for many, many years and the house won’t be the same without her. Everyone loved Effie and her room was always a popular place to be. She had the best laugh and there were times when she’d get tickled and her face would turn bright red. That’s when you knew it was something really funny. Oh to hear that laugh one more time! She was also sweet and kind, making friends easily, residents and staff alike. We all loved her and we will all miss her, but we know she is rejoicing today. Our thoughts are with her family tonight and the days ahead. Thank you for giving us the honor of caring for Effie all these years. We hope we enriched her life as much as she enriched ours.

Our beautiful tree really showed out this year! But what a difference 8 hours can make. First picture taken at 8 am yesterday and the second at 4 pm yesterday.

A great reminder that in every change, in every falling leaf there is some pain, some beauty. And that’s the way new leaves grow.
