Facebook Policy for the Parks and Recreation Department
This is the official page of the City of Benton, Parks and Recreation Department. This page is intended to serve as a gateway for communication in bridging the gap between the community and the Parks and Recreation Department. The Parks Department page was created to facilitate the exchange of information with the public at
large. To promote such exchange, the city encourages and welcomes comments from the general public about issues related to our park system and programs. With that said, however, the department reserves the right to regulate the content of, and where necessary delete completely, any objectionable entry that appears on its page. The department is responsible for monitoring all postings to its page and may take appropriate action whenever necessary, and at its sole discretion, to protect other page visitors from inappropriate or otherwise harmful information and links. While this is a limited public forum, it is also family friendly, so please keep your comments and wall posts clean. To that end, the city will remove as soon as feasible any posting that involves:
• Advertisements of any kind.
• Profane language or content.
• Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation.
• Explicit or implied sexual content.
• Conduct implying, promoting, or encouraging illegal activity.
• Information that might compromise the safety or security of the public
• Any other posting that, by its nature or content, might harm public welfare.
• Comments or postings that do not pertain to the original post.
• Repeated comments which are in the form of spam.
• Comments or postings which are in violation of the existing policies of the City of Benton.
• Comments or postings which do not show proper consideration for the privacy of others. You participate at your own risk in this limited public forum, taking personal responsibility for your comments, your username and any information provided. Violations of the guidelines for posting comments may subject users from being unable to participate in the discussions on this page. Also, the appearance of any external links on this site does not constitute official endorsement on behalf of the City of Benton.
