KNOWLEDGE IS POWER & you know I believe in EMPOWERING others!
Here is a story I would like to share:

I am compelled to disseminate a narrative that might benefit others. At present, I am engaged in a dialogue with a familiar acquaintance regarding this matter. For the purpose of anonymity, we shall refer to this individual as "Tammy."

It is imperative to heed one's body and advocate for one's own health.

Tammy has been vigorously participating in hot yoga and Pilates on a near-daily basis. She has expressed feelings of frustration due to bloating, weight gain, lethargy, and the cessation of her menstrual cycle. I have advised her that these symptoms could indicate that her body is undergoing stress and that she should reassess her regimen.

The National Institutes of Health .gov website provides the following information:
-Rigorous exercise, particularly when combined with insufficient caloric intake, can disturb hormonal balance.
-Inadequate caloric consumption may not be sufficient to support one's physiological functions.
-Although hot yoga and Pilates can enhance muscle tone, they can also result in an extremely low body fat percentage, which could potentially interfere with menstruation.
-Indicators of overtraining may include, but are not limited to, weight fluctuations, insomnia, and sleep disturbances.

If you are aware of someone who has or is currently experiencing these issues, it is recommended that they seek medical advice and reevaluate their actions. It is crucial to incorporate a recovery period and pay heed to one's body.

Moreover, it is advised to vary one's workout routine. Empower Yoga takes pride in offering a diverse range of workouts. I encourage you to try warm yoga, aerial yoga, yin yoga, and Pilates to maintain a well-rounded fitness regimen that promotes both mental and physical well-being.

As our bodies transition in this stage of life, it is crucial to consider how we can adapt in a positive manner. Cultivate curiosity, forge connections with similar-minded women, and delve into the benefits that yoga can offer and how it can enhance YOUR life. Anticipate a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.

This class is tailored for mature women seeking to enhance their strength, flexibility, and mobility; improve their balance and overall well-being; accept and embrace changes; and foster new friendships.

Discover the harmonious relationship between movement and breath, leading to inner and outer tranquility. Yoga fortifies both the body and the mind. It is not necessary to possess flexibility or prior experience to participate in the class.

Yoga is, in essence, a term that signifies "union"

Last summer hoorah 🥳 🎉 before school starts!! Our camps are engaging and FUN 🤩
Wednessay, August 6th, 1-5pm

This half day camp is intended for students with an inclination towards aerial yoga, or those who have previously attended our camp(s) and wish to continue their aerial exploration.

Participants can anticipate engaging in activities such as craft-making, games that foster: Body Awareness, Collaboration, and Engaging Exploration, and instruction on how to navigate movement in aerial hammocks. This camp is suitable for children aged between 7 to 13 years.

This is a physically demanding camp, and participants can expect to enhance their flexibility, strength, and balance. Aerial yoga also fosters focus, emotional regulation, and creativity. It is noteworthy that children too experience stress, and aerial yoga can serve as a viable method to alleviate it. Furthermore, it aids in improving bilateral coordination, which is the ability to utilize both sides of the body in a coordinated manner. Enhanced focus and attention to body awareness can lead to better concentration, a benefit that can extend to other areas of life, such as academics.

The soothing rhythm and tranquil nature of being in the aerial hammocks can have therapeutic effects, contributing to reduced stress and anxiety levels.

Campers are required to bring a water bottle, devoid of sugary drinks, and a small nutritious snack, although we do keep some on hand. We suggest that girls wear leggings and boys opt for sliders underneath their shorts or long athletic pants

We are on a mission to encourage our community to try what we have to offer here in Benton! A fun way to promote community while getting healthier together in a fun way.

Aerial yoga and traditional mat yoga each bestow commensurate mental and physical benefits, but their methodologies distinguish them. Aerial yoga utilizes a suspended hammock to facilitate movement, which can rigorously test one's core strength, and enables practitioners to perform supported inversions. Furthermore, aerial yoga may be more forgiving on joints and contributes to enhancing self-confidence by overcoming apprehensions.

Individuals who engage in aerial yoga will stimulate and fortify their core, the body's powerhouse. Conventional yoga adheres to more orthodox and meditative practices, while aerial yoga maintains these fundamental principles. Nevertheless, the addition of an entertaining, dynamic, and challenging aspect sets aerial yoga apart, utilizing the aerial hammock.

NOTE** we offer both traditional mat yoga AND aerial yoga but aerial yoga is our specialty and its SO unique & fun!

Treat yourself to the amazing experience!

This is an all levels class designed for men, women, and athletes ages 13 and up .

This class compliments anyone looking to "recover" from other type of workouts (cardio, strength training, etc)
AND/OR
seeking to work on flexibility, range of motion, and/or "tight" problem areas (such as hips, back, shoulders, neck, etc).

This class will only be available for up to 7 students, allowing the instructor to offer more personal attention to students.

Expect to challenge your core, balance, strength, and body awareness. Experience a supported, comforting compression in floating savasana.

Want a fun & unique way to get fit as well as improve flexibility, range of motion and so much more? If you answered yes to any of those questions then this series is for YOU!
Even if you are currently enrolled with another gym/club/studio adding Aerial Yoga to your current fitness regimen once a week (or more) will not only diversify your workout/practice but it will increase your results/goals.
