🌟 Patient Spotlight: Kyle🌟

Kyle is a bright, spirited 13-year-old who attends Inclusionary Therapy for both occupational and speech therapy services. He brings energy, enthusiasm, and plenty of smiles to every session!

Each year, Kyle proudly participates in the Penguin Project play at Playhouse in the Park, where he shines on stage and shows off his confidence and creativity. When he’s not rehearsing or performing, you can find him talking about one of his favorite interests—Pokémon!

Kyle truly keeps us entertained here at Inclusionary Therapy. He works hard in every session, always pushing himself to grow, and his determination continues to lead to meaningful progress. His commitment to therapy is helping him build the skills he needs for greater independence, success, and functionality each day.

What we love most about Kyle is his big heart—he works hard and loves even harder. We are so proud of the incredible progress he continues to make!

Oli is an energetic and exciting 4-year-old who comes to Inclusionary for speech and occupational therapy and what a joy he is!

Since starting therapy with us in 2024, Oli has made incredible progress. He has truly come leaps and bounds, showing growth in so many ways that make us beyond proud.

Oli is one of the hardest workers we know. He gives his all in every session, always ready to try, learn, and push himself just a little further. And while he works hard, he never forgets to bring his big personality and endless imagination with him!

Oli reminds us every single day not to take life too seriously and to find joy in every moment. His laughter, creativity, and spark light up our clinic.

Today we celebrate and say a heartfelt goodbye to our incredible OT, Mrs. Macey, on her last day with us. 💙

Mrs. Macey is beginning an exciting new chapter as she moves to New Mexico to be closer to her family. While we are going to miss her more than words can say (and yes… we are a little jealous that New Mexico gets her!), we are so happy for her and wish her nothing but the very best in this next season of life for her and her family.

We love Mrs. Macey!!! Her impact on our children, families, and team will be felt for years to come.

Here are just a few of our favorite things about Mrs. Macey:

Our Inclusionary Therapy team is taking the Plunge!🥶❄️

On March 7th, our team will be jumping into an ice-cold lake (KY lake) for the Polar Plunge, a fundraising event that supports Special Olympics Kentucky. The Polar Plunge raises money to provide year-round sports training, competition opportunities, and health programs for over 13,000 athletes across the state; all at no cost to the athletes or their families!

Every donation helps promote inclusion, confidence, and opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. 💙

Let’s talk about the importance of building confidence in therapy.

At Inclusionary Therapy, we target more than just goals — we prioritize confidence. Because when children feel safe, supported, and capable, progress follows naturally.

One way we support this is by practicing speech sounds with our students. When we join in, we model that mistakes are okay, strengthen auditory awareness, and encourage children to listen for their target sounds in real time. Therapy becomes interactive — not one-sided — helping children stay engaged, think critically, self-monitor, and carry their skills into everyday conversations.

They see success modeled before being asked to do it independently, building the confidence they need to keep trying.

Patient Spotlight: Kendra✨

Kendra is a fun and energetic 5-year-old who brightens our halls at Inclusionary! She comes to see us for Speech and Occupational Therapy and absolutely loves her therapy time, especially getting to play and learn alongside all her friends.

Kendra keeps us laughing with her silly personality, but don’t let that fool you, she is also a determined learner who works hard on her goals. Watching her grow in confidence and skills has been such a joy for our team!
