🌟Another Testimonial on this Tuesday!🌟
“On September 24th, 2020, life changed in an instant. I was struck by a car as a pedestrian — the vehicle was traveling between 55–60 mph. I died twice before arriving at UAMS. I had a shattered hip, broken tibia, six breaks in my back, a broken neck, all my ribs were broken, and a large wound on my thigh.
In the weeks following, I faced some of the hardest challenges imaginable. It was during COVID, so none of my family could visit me. I don’t remember anything for three weeks after the accident. Before coming to Exceptional Physical Therapy, I did inpatient for 10 weeks and then had home health services for three months. I then went to another rehab where they prepared me for a wheelchair.
Being told I would never walk again was crushing. I was frustrated because someone had to do everything for me, and I wasn’t sure if that’s how my life would always be. It took a full year before I could even get a hip replacement.
When I started physical therapy, my goal was simple — to walk again. The turning point came when I finally found a therapist who was willing to actually work with me, someone who went above and beyond to give me hope.
From there, progress started to come — slowly, but surely. I’ll never forget the first time I could stand on my own, take my first steps in the harness, get up unassisted, walk with a walker, and eventually walk around my neighborhood without help. Another big milestone was when my therapist, Marla, trusted me to drive her car for the first time.
Through it all, my faith kept me strong. I’ve always believed that God could see me through anything, and I truly believe that he put Marla and her clinic in my path when I needed them most.
From my very first visit to my last, everyone in the clinic cared deeply about me and my family. Over 2.5 years (274 visits), they saw me through every setback and celebrated every victory. I felt like more than just a patient; I was a friend. I’ve gained so many friendships here, with both the staff and other patients.
I will forever be grateful for Exceptional Physical Therapy.”

🌟Testimonial Tuesday🌟
“In 2010, a car wreck changed everything. That morning of the wreck, I walked a mile and a half like I did every day. I thought that was the last time I would ever walk again. After years of surgeries, I faced the reality that amputation was next. We opened our store in 2011, and I was worried about returning to work. It was more than just returning to work. It was returning to life. A wound vac for a year, endless appointments, and so many what-ifs:
What if I am never able to walk again?
What if I can't participate in 'normal' activities?
What if I could never play with my grandchildren?
But those what-ifs never won.
Today, I’m running my store, traveling, and even enjoying the beach again. When I walked across that sand, I thought back to how Carrie had me doing obstacle courses in therapy that helped me train for this exact moment. I loved to swim before, and I now have a special swimming leg that allows me to continue enjoying swimming. I can even wear heels still! My amputation gave me the courage to try to do things that a 'normal' person would do!
Therapy has shown me that I have the strength to continue. Sure, some days are rough and sore and seem like they will never end, but at the end of the day, it was totally worth it. My independence is what I strive for every day.
To anyone who’s just starting physical therapy after major surgery or amputation: Be patient. Be brave. Some days will be better than others. It’s ok to not always be ok. You got this!
Injuries and amputations don’t define you. They show how strong you are. I'm a strong woman and proud of where I am. The life I had before my accident didn't end because of it; it just blossomed into more appreciation to what I can do.”

🌟Testimonial Tuesday🌟
“In January 2022, I had an above-the-knee amputation. A few weeks later, they had to go back in and amputate farther up, taking my hip. I wasn’t sure what my future would look like.
I started physical therapy in December 2022, determined to get stronger and learn how to move again with my prosthetic. My biggest fear in the beginning was falling, and honestly, relearning how to walk was tough. Getting my gait right, learning how to get up and down, and allowing myself to slow down when needed — it all took patience and perseverance.
Before my amputation, I loved playing pickleball. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to play again, but now I’m back on the court about four days a week! I’m the only player in a wheelchair, but I still play at the intermediate level.
It’s definitely different — I’m sitting now, and I have to maneuver the chair while using my paddle — but I’m doing what I love again, and that means everything.
To anyone going through a major life change like an amputation, I want you to know:
Whether you’re on a prosthetic or in a wheelchair, having an amputation does not stop you from living your life. You can still live a good life rolling around in a wheelchair.”
-Greg G.
If he can do it, you can too. Keep moving forward — one step, or one roll, at a time.

🌟It’s time for Testimonial Tuesday🌟

“Three years ago, I had my knee replaced after dealing with pain that made walking difficult. I was limping and couldn’t do my normal daily activities for very long without discomfort.

Surgery & physical therapy made such a difference—I could walk normally again without a limp! It felt amazing to get back to things I enjoy, like walking and biking.

Now I’m back in therapy for my shoulder. The pain was making it hard to reach or move comfortably, and I didn’t want it to hold me back. My goal this time is to regain my mobility so I can get back to playing tennis and gardening more often.”

⭐️Another Testimonial on this Tuesday⭐️

“Before therapy, I was struggling with severe lower back pain from scoliosis. It affected everything—I couldn’t sleep at night, and during the day I could barely function due to the pain.
Since completing therapy, my life has improved. I’m working every day, walking better, getting a full night’s rest, tending to my garden, and continue volunteering where I’m needed.
One of the biggest wins? I recently enjoyed over 4 weeks of travel! I explored Idaho, took an 8-day cruise to Alaska, and even went on a 5-day road trip through Wyoming and South Dakota. Having therapy beforehand made a world of difference—it gave me the relief I needed to fully enjoy every moment.
I continue to do my exercises at home, not just for my hip and back, but for all the challenges my body has faced over the years—even knee surgery.”

🌟Testimonial Tuesday🌟

“I had both knees replaced just 5 months apart, and my biggest goal was simple: to walk without pain. Not only can I walk, but I can truly live again.
Before my surgeries, life was tough. I was in constant pain and avoided going places if I had to stand too long. I’d been told over 25 years ago that I needed knee replacements, but I kept putting it off.
Now, it feels like I’ve been given a second chance. The difference is incredible, no more pain, swelling, or soreness. I can do yard work, go hunting, walk any distance, and even climb stairs with ease.
What’s next? I feel confident enough to try running again, and I’m excited for a weeklong trip to France coming up soon. I’m enjoying life again in ways I never thought possible.”

🍎Teachers, you’ve been back in the classroom this week—time to give your neck and shoulders some TLC!
✨Try these stretches and your Monday self will thank you:
•Begin sitting in a chair with your arms at your side. Grasp the underside of the chair with your hand on the side you wish to stretch. Slowly bend your neck to the side, bringing your ear toward your opposite shoulder. You should feel a stretch in the side of your neck.
•Sit near the edge of a chair. Engage your lower abdominals to keep your pelvis in neutral position. Movement: Extend and reach out with your arms in front of you, tuck your chin in and arch your upper back until you feel a stretch between your shoulder blades.
