A Soldier’s Heart, Bluegrass & Muddy Waters is honored to partner with Marshall County Elks Lodge 2707 for the annual Water Warriors Elks Fishing Trip on June 27th!

This incredible event is all about camaraderie, relaxation & spending quality time outdoors with fellow Veterans who understand the journey. Participants will enjoy a guided morning of fishing on the beautiful waters of Kentucky Lake, followed by lunch & fellowship at Marshall County Elks Lodge 2707.

A Soldier’s Heart is honored to host an upcoming FREE Women Veterans Retreat on May 8–10 in beautiful Benton, Kentucky at (Application link below ⬇️)

This special weekend is designed to provide connection, healing & renewal alongside fellow Women Veterans who understand the journey. We have a powerful lineup of activities & modalities planned, including: Equine therapy, a paint & sip, kayaking, fishing, journaling seminars & several peer-led discussions on meaningful topics such as Post Traumatic Growth & Military Sexual Trauma.

This is an opportunity to explore holistic approaches to healing, unwind in nature & experience the strength of camaraderie with women who have walked similar paths. Many of the friendships formed at these retreats last long after the weekend ends; it truly gifts you a warrior family.

Today, on World Semicolon Day (April 16th), we pause to recognize the battles that don’t always show on the surface.

The semicolon (;) is more than a symbol, it represents a moment where the story could have ended… But didn’t. It’s a choice. A decision to keep going, even when the weight feels heavy.

At A Soldier’s Heart, we stand beside our Veterans and their families who are carrying stories of depression, addiction, self-injury & loss. We’ve sat around the campfire, on the water & on the trail hearing stories of struggle, but more importantly, stories of resilience, connection & continued purpose.

What a beautiful & meaningful weekend we had at A Soldier’s Heart’s Women Veterans Retreat, March 27–29!

Over the course of the weekend, these incredible women shared their stories, military history, struggles, victories & treasured mementos. They built deep connections, found understanding in one another & embraced the healing that happens when women Veterans come together in fellowship.

From campfires & hiking to classes on breathwork, journaling & Post Traumatic Growth; the weekend was filled with opportunities to reflect, grow, relax & reconnect. We were also blessed with a lovely service & lunch at on Sunday to close out our time together.

One of the most exciting parts? Several of the ladies even signed up for the KDVA Women’s Conference in June… Proof that the bond & encouragement built during this retreat continues far beyond the weekend itself.

Today, we pause to honor Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day.

A Soldier’s Heart recognizes the unimaginable strength, resilience & sacrifice of those who endured captivity in service to our nation. These brave men & women faced conditions most of us cannot comprehend; yet they held onto hope, courage & their will to survive.

This day also marks the anniversary of the beginning of the Bataan Death March, a harrowing chapter in history where 60,000–80,000 American & Filipino prisoners were forced to march over 60 miles under brutal conditions. Thousands did not survive. Those who did carried the weight of that experience for the rest of their lives.

At A Soldier’s Heart, we pause to remember not only their suffering, but their enduring spirit.

Their stories remind us why we continue this mission: To walk alongside Veterans through healing, to honor their experiences & to ensure no one carries their burdens alone.

If today feels heavy, know this… You are not alone.
