The candidate we're seeking is both professional and bubbly! This person needs to be a natural communicator, fashion forward, and able to think on their feet to problem solve. This role requires someone who is organized, detail oriented, and enthusiastic about excellence and learning new things, as extensive on the job training will be provided. No eye care experience is required (but of course is appreciated). Sales and retail experience is helpful but not required. We’re looking for great character and a willingness to learn above all else!
As an optician/eyewear consultant you will:
- Help customers choose the best frames and lenses based on their prescription needs, face shape, style, and lifestyle.
- Take and record measurements, adjust, repair, and fit eyewear, and carry out these tasks with accuracy. (Assisted by the latest technologies, such as Optikam)
- Verify that finished eyewear meets our standards, as well as customer requests
- Educate customers on prescription terminology, lens options, our brands, and product offerings. We have many standardized office verbiages that make this clear, consistent, and concise.
- Place, fill, and dispense orders for glasses and contact lenses, while accurately recording all information into electronic health records software (RevolutionEHR).
- Problem solve, bounce from one guest to another, and provide consistently excellent customer service to all of our customers/patients.
- Apply/calculate insurance benefits/discounts
- Submit insurance claims for all eligible optical orders.
Everyone on our team collaborates on the following tasks as needed:
- Greeting guests
- Scheduling patients
- Pulling insurance benefits (vision and medical)
- Communicating with patients via phone, text, fax, email, and occasionally mail
- Checking patients in and out
- Reviewing paperwork
- Entering in new inventory
- Maintain clean and organized work spaces as well as cleaning the office (a team effort)

Hours (Not Flexible):
Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Closed Saturdays & Sundays
