March is Women’s History Month.

Women have always shaped our world—but many neurodivergent women have done so while navigating systems that weren’t built with their brains in mind.

For decades, conditions like ADHD and autism were studied mostly in boys, leaving countless women misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or overlooked. Yet neurodivergent women continue to lead, create, advocate, and innovate.
From activists who helped define the neurodiversity movement to authors, researchers, artists, and community leaders, neurodivergent women remind us that different ways of thinking are powerful.

This month we celebrate all women—and the unique perspectives neurodivergent women bring to our communities.
Because inclusion means recognizing that there is no single way for a brain to be brilliant.

Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria can affect how neurodivergent people experience connection, communication, and conflict. These reactions are not overreactions—they are nervous system responses tied to emotional sensitivity. When we understand RSD, we create more compassionate relationships for neurodivergent individuals.

This week, we recognize caregivers who advocate for neurodivergent wellbeing every day. Caregivers play a vital role in supporting neurodivergent individuals, and that support works best when it honors autonomy and differences. Understanding sensory needs, communication styles, and regulation patterns can transform how caregivers show up.

Neurodivergent love languages often differ from typical expectations, and that is completely valid. Many neurodivergent people express affection through parallel play, infodumping, or sharing special interests—forms of connection that honor authenticity and comfort. This Valentine’s Day, we celebrate all the different ways neurodivergent love shows up and strengthens relationships.

Seeing my name in TIME's headlines is one of those rare, disorienting (in a good way), deeply‑honoring moments. It’s not just that my commentary is featured in such an iconic publication — it’s what I got to talk about. This piece goes straight to the heart of my work: how neurodivergent people navigate authenticity, communication, and the constant pressure to sound “correct” online.

Being invited into this conversation matters. It means ND‑literate language is making its way into mainstream spaces. It means our lived experiences — the masking, the misread signals, the fear of being perceived as “robotic” or “too much” — are finally being treated as culturally relevant, not niche.

“Clutter isn’t a sign of laziness — it often happens when life’s demands outpace our mental capacity.” — Dr. Stephanie Steele-Wren, PsyD.

🧠 She explains to Real Simple that when your brain is overloaded, your space can start to feel neglected — not because you don’t care, but because you simply don’t have the emotional bandwidth to keep up.

📍 Clutter increases cognitive load, meaning your brain has to constantly process everything around you, which can drain focus and energy.

🌪️ For some people, especially those who are more sensitive or neurodivergent, clutter creates sensory chaos that makes it harder to rest or transition between tasks.

💛 Her big takeaway? Clutter is a sign of mental overload, not a character flaw — and creating a space that soothes rather than stresses you, matters more than perfection.
