Unbridled Pediatric Therapies offers the unique and innovative therapeutic experience utilizing equine-assisted therapy for children and adolescents. Our highly skilled and licensed therapists (PT, OT, and Speech) utilize the inherent therapeutic qualities of interactions and movements of horses to complement traditional therapy methods. At Unbridled, we believe that every child has untapped potential waiting to be discovered. Seeing a horse laying down is actually pretty special! Horses only lie down when they feel safe and comfortable in their environment. It’s a great reminder of how important trust and calm surroundings are — for horses and for kids.

Horse Fact Friday!

Horses are social animals and form strong bonds with one another. You’ll often see them nuzzle or stand close together as a way of showing comfort and connection. Watching these interactions helps children understand connection, gentleness, and trust in a natural way.

Not every therapy moment at the barn involves riding. Barn chores help kids practice responsibility, coordination, and independence while working on real-life daily living skills. Plus, purposeful movement like lifting, carrying, and cleaning provides great sensory input and builds strength.

Rhythm, timing, and trust at the barn. Our handler is jump roping with the lead rope while it’s still connected to the horse, showing just how calm, responsive, and well-trained our herd is. This kind of playful desensitization builds confidence, supports regulation through steady rhythm, and keeps groundwork safe and fun for everyone. Trained staff always lead so kids can learn alongside steady partners.

🎃 Saddle up for Halloween at the barn—next week is Dress-Up Week! We’ve got spooky-fun activities, horse-friendly games, and plenty of chances to move, play, and smile. Theme days are in the post—come dressed up all week long!

Quick barn-friendly tips: comfy costumes, closed-toe shoes, and nothing that blocks vision or spooks our horses (think no long capes or noisy props). Can’t wait to celebrate with you! 🐴
