The Meadows in Bentonville The Meadows is a Level 2 Assisted Living Community for residents over the age of 55. Independent residents are welcome as well.

The resident only pays for services they need so we can keep the price as low as possible for those who do not need extra services.

Today’s monthly Travel the World activity took us to Japan! 🇯🇵
We savored delicious sushi 🍣 and mochi 🍡, enjoyed traditional Japanese music 🎶, and explored the rich culture and history of this incredible country.

These monthly events are such a highlight — bringing smiles, familiar faces, and a little taste of the world to our community. 🌏

Last but certainly not least, we’re proud to highlight Candace Ward — our Director of Nursing whose heart, resilience, and joy make her a cornerstone of The Meadows family.
Candace found her way to The Meadows after more than a decade of encouragement from her friend Megan — and when a last-minute nursing need came up during COVID, she stepped in. It only took one shift for everyone to know she was meant to be here. For Candace, the decision was just as clear. The Meadows felt like home — a family-run place with a deep sense of connection.
A Virginia native, Candace grew up in a Christian children’s home in Oklahoma. She remembers it as a loving place full of great people (and yes, she swears she walked uphill both ways in the snow to school!). She was a talented athlete, excelling in volleyball, basketball, and track — where she even held a state record in discus!
Candace began her healthcare journey early, becoming a CNA at just 16. Though she originally considered sports medicine or physical therapy, life led her to nursing — a path inspired in part by watching her high school sweetheart and first love battle cancer. She became a nurse at 19 and has now been in the profession for 23 years, with every step fueled by a desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
Her love for The Meadows runs deep — not only because of the values it represents, but because it allows her to live her own with balance. “Being a mom is my first priority,” she says, “and working here makes that possible.” She also takes pride in honoring the legacy of Mr. Bathke and carrying forward a tradition of compassionate care.
Candace is mom to a 19-year-old son who works at Walmart, a 6-year-old daughter who’s about to graduate kindergarten, and two bonus children from a previous relationship. Both of her children were born as micropremies, weighing just over one pound, and today are thriving walking miracles. She’s also recently begun a relationship with a wonderful man and surrounds herself with an amazing tribe of chosen family and friends.
On her days off, you’ll find Candace soaking up time with her kids, camping, kayaking, foraging, and cruising in the Jeep with the top off. She’s newly into pickleball, riding her e-bike, and has even taken up golfing. Her love for music — especially live shows — runs deep, and one song that holds special meaning to her is “Linda James” by Nicholas Jamerson & The Morning Jays, which reminds her to live with love, gratitude, and light.
A proud Dolly Parton fan, Candace lives by her wisdom — especially these gems:�“If you see someone without a smile today, give ‘em yours.”�“I have a strict policy that nobody cries alone in my presence.”�“Don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.”
Candace, thank you for your fierce dedication, the strength you bring to our team, and the love you pour into everything you do. You remind us all to “keep it in the family” — and we’re so lucky to be part of yours.

Today we’re excited to spotlight Kaylee — a dedicated nurse with a heart for people and a love for lifelong learning.
Kaylee’s journey with The Meadows began over a decade ago after being introduced to Megan, and she’s stayed connected with our community throughout her nursing career. She was drawn to The Meadows because of its strong family values and the genuine care shared among residents, staff, and families.
She became a nurse to help those in need and knew it would be a fulfilling career. For Kaylee, nursing is about more than tasks — it’s about how you make people feel. One of her favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
Outside of work, Kaylee loves to travel and immerse herself in different cultures. She believes in always growing, both personally and emotionally, and encourages others to read *The Noticer* by Andy Andrews.
On her days off, she enjoys being in nature and spending as much time as she can with her family. She’s most proud of raising two amazing kids and the close relationship they share.

Today we’re excited to highlight Stephanie Ramos — a compassionate, faith-filled nurse who is a true gift to The Meadows.
For Stephanie, working at The Meadows has been more than a job — it’s been a blessing. The relationships she’s built here with residents, clinic staff, and other departments have been meaningful and unique, forming a close-knit community that she’s proud to be part of.
Stephanie became a nurse because she wanted a career rooted in care, purpose, and continuous personal growth. Nursing gave her the opportunity to use her heart for others while constantly learning and evolving — something she treasures deeply.
At home, Stephanie is a devoted mother to three children — a mature daughter and two energetic sons, spanning 13 years in age. Her love extends to her animals as well, she cares for 25 chickens, 5 ducks, 3 cats, a dog, a guinea pig, and a turtle! Her days off are full of life, laughter, and love.
She’s especially proud of her personal growth over the past two years and knows that God is still shaping her journey. Her faith continues to guide her path, and she firmly believes that every step she’s taken has been part of His plan.
A fun fact about Stephanie is her second toe on her right foot is longer than all the others. Her advice to the world: “Do not allow others to determine who you are going to be. That is YOUR choice. Do not give others that power.”

We’re happy to introduce Roseann Spencer — one of the newest nurses to join us here at The Meadows.

Roseann came to us through our Director of Nursing, Candace, and has already shown a genuine dedication to helping others live their best quality of life. Her path to nursing was inspired by her youngest brother’s journey with cancer, and she’s proud of how far she’s come — especially in continuing her education.

Roseann is married and a proud mom to five daughters. On her days off, she’s usually busy chasing after her girls and enjoying family time.

Her advice to the world is simple: be kind. And that’s something she brings into her work every day.

Welcome to The Meadows, Roseann — we’re glad you’re here!
