June spotlight for our Exploring Movement series is Tai Chi!

Most of us could exercise more, but some of us have difficulty finding an activity that gets us moving that we also enjoy. Exploring Movement is an opportunity to try out a variety of different types of movement with no cost and no commitments.

This month we're featuring Tai Chi, an ancient Chinese discipline of meditative movements practiced as a system of exercises.

In future months we hope to work with community individuals and organizations to provide other inventive ways to get your body going! Our hope if that you find what feels right for you and can make connections with our partners leading the classes for continued movement.

Try Tai Chi in June with these class times:
Wednesday, June 11: 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Wednesday, June 18: 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Wednesday, June 25: 1:00pm - 2:00pm

And keep an eye out for future classes!

Forsythia suspensa’s vibrant yellow flowers are starting to bloom across the Ozarks! Beyond its beauty, they also has edible and medicinal values. In traditional Chinese medicine, it’s revered for its potent anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties, often used to alleviate symptoms of colds, fevers, and respiratory infections. When used as a salve it helps with burns, cuts and scraps. Recent scientific studies have also shown its neuroprotective properties (studies linked in the comments) making to a plant to know and love. Its flowers are edible and can be used to infuse teas or garnish salads (not my favorite but some love them). I do use them for teas, and certainly tincture to preserve for year round use.
