🌿 Clinician Spotlight: Michelle Asher, MSW, CSW 🌿
Today we’re excited to highlight one of our incredible clinicians, Michelle Asher, whose passion for people and dedication to growth makes a powerful impact here at Yonder Behavioral Health.
Michelle has always been fascinated by people, culture, and what shapes us. Over the years, that curiosity grew into a deep desire to help others—especially those who are struggling. Having faced her own challenges, she brings empathy, understanding, and real-world insight into her work.
When Michelle joined Yonder, it was because she saw an opportunity to help build something meaningful: a new program that could provide support, hope, and change for people in the community.
Her approach is simple yet powerful: meet people where they are. She recognizes that no two clients are the same, so she stays flexible and adjusts her style to fit each person’s needs.
One of the most rewarding parts of her work is watching transformation happen—seeing someone arrive at their lowest point and later return stronger, confident, and even applying for a job. Moments like these remind her why she loves what she does.
Michelle works closely with women who face challenges like shame, past trauma, low confidence, and generational patterns they’re determined to break. She focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment where they feel heard and encouraged. She helps them build new patterns—especially in parenting—by modeling the same behaviors she hopes to inspire.
What she loves about Yonder is the blend of continuing education, work opportunities for clients, strong behavioral health support, and the laid-back, safe atmosphere that allows people to grow.
Michelle’s work is grounded in hard work, compassion, genuineness, and integrity. She believes in being who you say you are, treating people with respect, and protecting privacy.
To stay grounded, she focuses on balance—maintaining a peaceful home life where she can reset, and practicing what she teaches: self-care, rest, and healthy boundaries.
Her message to anyone on the recovery journey:
“Recovery is a process and takes time. You’re always growing, and each stage of life brings new challenges. Your recovery will need to change with you, because it’s a lifelong journey.”
We are grateful for Michelle and the heart she brings to our team every day.
