Hi there!

I wanted to share a quick update with you as we're already half way through August.

While the downstairs space in my building will still be undergoing renovations at some point, no contractors have been scheduled yet. For now, things remain quiet — which means it’s a great time to book a session before any changes begin.

I’m still keeping an eye out for a new location (ideally still in Berea), and I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop as things unfold.

Your continued support means so much to me during this in-between time, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep working with you at 429.

7 Ways to Get the Most Out of Your Massage
(aka: How to make your body say “THANK YOU”)

1. Hydrate Like It's Your Job (But Not Right Before)
Start sipping the day before—your muscles will love it.
But don’t chug a gallon right before walking in unless you like bathroom breaks mid-massage. 🙃
...And maybe don’t roll in after scarfing a double cheeseburger.

2. Be Fashionably Early
Give yourself a few extra minutes to settle in, breathe, use the bathroom, and ease out of “go mode.”
This gives your body (and brain) a chance to realize it’s about to enter relaxation territory.
Walking in late and flustered? Not exactly the vibe we’re going for.

3. Speak up!
Too much pressure? Not enough? Cold feet? Weird crick in your shoulder?
TELL ME. I’m not psychic (tragically), but I am very good at tailoring your session when you speak up.

4. Holding your breath = holding tension.
This is not a tax audit. Breathe. Let your belly rise. Exhale with a sigh.
Even make little “oooh” or “that’s the spot” noises. It’s all part of the release.

5. Take Your Sweet Time After
Don’t hop off the table like it’s hot lava.
Stretch, sip some water, enjoy the warm towel, and float back to earth slowly.

✨ Want to take your bliss to the next level?
Add the “Deep Sleep” add-on next time—15 undisturbed minutes of pure horizontal heaven post-massage. No talking. No pressure. Just rest.

6. Massage isn’t a pit stop. It’s the main event.
This is not the time to run errands, reorganize your closet, or hit leg day at the gym.
Your body needs to marinate in the calm. Go home. Be horizontal. Watch clouds. Hydrate. Maybe nap.

7. Be Fresh, Not Funky
A quick shower beforehand helps warm up muscles and keeps things, um… pleasant.
Especially in summer sandal season — if your feet have been out and about living their best dusty lives, please give them a rinse. Crunchy toes = skipped footwork. No exceptions. ☺️

Whether it’s your first massage or your fiftieth, use these tips help make every session feel like exactly what your body and mind needed.

Stay soft,

Happy Wednesday!

If you tried to respond to my last email, you might have noticed that the button linked to my schedule instead of the feedback form. Here's the correct one — it should work fine now:

I’d love to know what you look for or enjoy most in a massage experience.

For me, it all starts with the space. First impressions matter, and I always appreciate a clean, inviting, and relaxing room. A clean environment ensures that hygiene and safety measures are in place, and I also appreciate a thoughtfully curated, clutter-free space. These details reflect the therapist’s professionalism and care, enhancing the overall experience.

The second most important factor for me is communication. I value when my therapist is open to feedback throughout the session, asking about areas I’d like worked on or how the pressure feels. Their openness to feedback shows they care about my comfort and helps build trust, ensuring each session can be tailored to my needs. I believe that every great massage is often a result of open communication.

So, what do you enjoy or look for in a massage session? I’d love to hear your feedback, even if it’s something you’ve experienced with another therapist or details you tend to notice.

I’ve created an anonymous form where you can share your thoughts. If you'd like, you can include your name, and I’ll make sure to consider your feedback for our future sessions together.

Happy New Year

I can't believe how quickly time passes; here we are at the start of another year! It’s been great to return to my old stomping grounds at 429. I've enjoyed seeing both familiar and new faces. :)

With the new year upon us, there's often a surge of energy toward fresh beginnings.

If one of your goals this year is to experience less pain, stress, and overwhelm, incorporating regular massage into your routine could be a game changer.

So, how can a consistent massage routine actually help?

First, it’s about establishing a sense of control, predictability, and stability in your life. When life feels chaotic, having a regular massage session to look forward to can significantly reduce stress and anxiety.

Second, consistency is key when it comes to massage. While a single session can certainly provide relief, an ongoing routine makes a more substantial difference. Massage is not a quick fix; it is part of your journey toward feeling better. Regular sessions enable you to experience deeper and longer-lasting benefits, especially when combined with other healthy lifestyle choices. It all adds up.

Think of each massage as hitting the “reset” button for both your mind and body. Even committing to just one session a month can help you rest, restore balance, and ensure that you feel your best as you focus on your health and wellness throughout 2025.

I have a few spots available this month, including Saturday the 18th. You can easily check my schedule and book an appointment on my website.

Remember: You are the medicine.
💜

Few days left for October

This is just a quick reminder that I have only a few available appointments left for October.

If you can't find a convenient appointment, you can opt to be added to a waitlist. You'll be notified if any time slots open up. The online scheduler will show the option to be added to the waitlist.

Since my last email, I've had questions about what's next.

Will you continue practicing?
Yes! I intend to keep working as a massage therapist and bodyworker for as long as possible. I genuinely love what I do and find it rewarding to help people individually. This is just a move to another location. :)

Where are you moving to?
I haven't found a new location yet, but I'm actively searching for the next space. There might be a brief period when I won't be practicing. I will be communicating as I usually do through email with updates.

Can you suggest other therapists in the meantime?
Absolutely! Just send me a text at (440) 623 - 7157, and I'll share a list of massage therapists that I recommend.

Thank you again for all your support.

Updates

As many of you know, my lease for the office is ending on October 31st. It’s a bittersweet moment for me, as I will be leaving my Front St. location and taking some time off before moving to a new and exciting space.

This decision wasn’t easy, but I’ve carefully considered both your needs and my own. I truly value the relationships we’ve built over the years, and I want to ensure you continue to receive excellent massage and bodywork from other skilled therapists in the area. If you’d like some recommendations, please don’t hesitate to text me at (440) 623-7157.

For now, my schedule is open for October, and I hope to see you at least one last time!

Massage Therapist | Bodyworker

Hi, my name is Dianna Hughes, licensed massage therapist and owner of Cuyahoga Massage Therapy.

My studies as a massage therapist began in 2016 after I was diagnosed with chronic headaches. At the time of my diagnosis, I had a stressful desk job where I sat all day. This caused a lot of physical pain in my neck, arms, back and my posture suffered. The medication that I was prescribed barely worked, and I was only able to find relief through frequent massage.

I knew then that I wanted to help others find relief from chronic headaches and pain, because I was experiencing first-hand just how disabling these conditions were.

Since then, I have taken continuing education courses to specialize in the relief of chronic pain and headaches. I’ve even studied in Thailand, where I learned Traditional Nuad Boran Thai Massage, a 2,000-year-old healing practice.
