The best thing to do when stressed is get back to the basics. Be mindful of even the smallest things you have daily like food, water, clothing, shelter and safety. Being grateful puts you in a positive mindset and puts the stress into perspective. There are many ways to decrease anxiety. Here we go again.. one more year down as another is about to begin. Such pressure to have gotten it all done. In reality that's nonsense because life is a continuous process and anything worthwhile doesnt have a definitive time frame. Maybe your year was fantastic, maybe you got knocked down but whatever the circumstances were try to take a breath and get excited for all the opportunities and possibilities that lie ahead. Everyone has moments of triumph and failure but its what you do after you fall that will make a difference. Sometimes we cant get back up on our own. It's ok not to be ok and ask for help. It's a sign of strength not weakness. I hope the new year brings everyone health prosperity, growth, new experiences, moments that will make you smile, comfort, safety and kindness! 2019... Bring it on!!!

Today is a challenge for many. Saying gbye to Summer is tough. We look forward to it throughout the year and soak in the freedom to just breathe a minute. Returning to school, starting a new job, beginning a new chapter.. no matter what the transition is, it can be scary but also exhilarating. It's an opportunity to get a fresh start. A chance to reinvent yourself and accept challenges that although might knock you down at first, ultimately will provide you with growth, self awareness and skills. Remind your children that those clean notebooks, sharpened pencils and the walk down the hall to a new classroom is a beginning to show off their strengths and shine. Try not to hold grudges from last year or come in with old judgements. Everyone changes so let's give it all a chance. Extra hugs, snuggles and kisses tonight. If your children see that you believe they can be positive, calm and confident they will believe it too. But they should also know tmrw won't be perfect as nothing in life ever is but that no matter what happens a solution can always be found. Good luck to everyone tomorrow.. much hatzlacha! Sure these are great concepts.. rules to try to follow but they are too general. A simple basic one is to be authentic, know who you are, know what you want, know your strengths and weaknesses and be confident in yourself. Only after you have achieved that level of awareness and self esteem can you choose a mantra to follow that is meaningful and real.
