Dear Friends,
It's "Time to Say Goodbye".
As you know, I have been gradually reducing my days in the office over the past few years. I shall be retiring from active practice on May 15, 2025. Please notify East Bay Pediatrics staff of your provider preference for ongoing care. Families who have designated me as the primary provider for their children should choose one of my colleagues to serve in this role. I am very enthusiastic about the ten board-certified pediatricians who practice at East Bay Pediatrics. All of these physicians are experienced providers with intelligence, skill, judgment, and concern for patient care.
Our two newest associates Beth Hodges, and Lauren Bouton are exceptional caregivers with many years of private practice experience in other locations.
It has been both a privilege and a pleasure to have provided care to thousands of children over the past 50 years. I have much enjoyed the role as your consultant on how you want to raise your children - the relationships have been rewarding, the ability for us to educate each other has been invaluable, and the opportunity to promote wellness and to prevent illness has been my goal. Communication and compassionate care have been important guiding principles.
I am proud that East Bay Pediatrics will continue to serve our children and adolescents in independent practice for our community in the years to come.
I shall miss all of you and the outstanding staff at East Bay Pediatrics.
Sincerely,
Richard L. Oken, M.D. FAAP
