Hi there friends and colleagues, I hope you’re well here at the beginning of a new year. I like to call it, “2024-the year of opening New Doors” (as I named '2023 the year of cultivating good chi’ 😊
Speaking of opening new doors….
I’m enthusiastically letting you know about a project I just completed. This online, on-demand course is the culmination of over forty years of my life’s work integrating ancient wisdom traditions, such as Qigong, with Western psychotherapy.
1.) New 2024: Here’s a link to the online 3 hour course in Bodymind Healing in Psychotherapy (https://bodymindhealing-taichiqigong.com/product/bodymind-healing-in-psychotherapy-ceu-course/). I’ve presented this course in a variety of formats for example in 5 days at Esalen Institute for the public and health professionals, and at many workshop locations. Most recently it was presented online in a three-hour course for The Alameda County Psychological Association (co-sponsored by the California State Psychological Association). After many of my students strongly encouraged me to introduce more people to this approach, I decided to take that recorded workshop, and get it professionally edited and updated to share this pathway with more people. The course is for Psychotherapists, Qigong practitioners and teachers and the public. If you know of anyone who would be interested in it, including you, please pass on this information.
What health professionals, Qigong practitioners, and the general public will learn from this workshop (https://bodymindhealing-taichiqigong.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/What-people-are-saying4_workshop-book.pdf):
1.) Learn an integral approach how to reverse sympathetic nervous system reactivity when afraid, enraged or triggered to modulate your reactivity and be responsive.
2.) Case illustrations which how the bodymind healing approach can be applied to a variety of issues such as stress, trauma, hypertension, chronic pain. You’ll be introduced to how to incorporate these methods into your self-care.
3.) Discover how to apply a variety of meditative practices, which may stay with you for a lifetime.
What are others saying about the workshop and book upon which it’s based, “Bodymind Healing Psychotherapy?”
2.) Last year I put together into an online course in Bodymind Healing Tai Chi Chuan: Four Dimensions of Purpose (https://bodymindhealing-taichiqigong.com/): It’s a 19-week training program in Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan, which introduces you to four purposes to each movement: Self-healing, spiritual unfoldment, self-defense, and changing one’s life stance psychologically. I take my 40 years of training with Master Fong Ha in gratefully learning the traditional Yang style long form, and integrate it with cross-cultural associations from ancient wisdom traditions.
Blessings for the heavenly doors of Wood Dragon chi to open for you in this new year 2024. Since the year of the Wood Dragon is partly about sharing creative ideas and visions with the world, I’ll be interested to hear about what’s on your growing edge, what new doors are opening in your life and how I might be of assistance.
🙏
