Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows: Hardhats were worn by only 16% of workers who sustained head injuries on the job. In any given year, more than one thousand workers are killed in the US from head injuries sustained at work.

Helmet use reduces the risk of head injury by 85%, brain injury by 88% and severe brain injury by at least 75%. The protective effect of helmets for facial injury is 65% for the upper and mid facial regions. (NIH.gov)
