Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) is an important, but often overlooked, factor in fertility challenges.

Most of the time, PID is recognized by acute symptoms like pelvic pain, fever, and unusual vaginal discharge. But what many don’t realize is that PID can also be silent—causing long-term scarring and damage to your reproductive organs without any obvious signs.

PID is commonly caused by bacterial infections, particularly s*xually transmitted infections (STIs) like chlamydia and gonorrhea. Other bacteria from the vaginal canal can also lead to PID, especially following childbirth or certain medical procedures.
