Thank you beloved community, thank you so deeply. I overflow with love and gratitude for you. My heart is full with you. It is Lammas today, the mid-point between summer solstice and autumn equinox. Traditionally this day celebrates the early harvest and we break bread together. It is a practice on this day to celebrate the fruits of our labor and look at how we have grown, healed, all that we have learned and cultivated since the growing season began this year.
This year has been hard.
How would i have made it these past 6 months without community and practices? I am not so sure. But, likely i would not have been as well fed or impressed by the immensity of life and how it can be that devastation and blessings come in the same package.
Yes, Devastation and Blessings have come in the same package.
As i heal from the devastation and practice opening to the fullness of life and sitting face to face with death, loss, grief, regret and intense longing… What remains and holds me in its immensity is love. Love for the incredible beauty of the universe's creations, overflowing gratitude for community. Community as my lifeboat. You, your words, your heart, your presence, prayers, love and offerings making all the difference in the world. I am held in a web of blessings, in a buoyant boat of life dancing to the rhythm of the wild waves of the most epic storm…
From the very beginning of this extraordinary ride, when Jess & i decided it was finally time to move in together, you were there. You were present with your generosity and love, with food, boxes, furniture, strong arms, help in finding things we needed, doing things that were hard to do, we landed in our home with love and nourishment because of you… thank you Ola’i, Maria Christina, Katherine, Tonks, turtle, Acacia, Eve & Tony, Erika, Jenny Rose, Miki, David, Pat, Mike S., Christine, Afi, Ruby, Erin… and all those who wanted to help and sent loving messages and spent time in communication with me and our beloved jess.
