Wrapped up an incredible weekend in San Francisco leveling up with ART ✨ Active Release Technique is a hands-on, movement-based system that targets dysfunctional soft tissue, adhesions, and nerve entrapments by combining precise tension with patient motion. It helps restore proper biomechanics, improve mobility, and calm irritated nerves.

Now I’m even more equipped to tackle things like rotator cuff dysfunction, lateral and medial epicondylitis (tennis/golfer’s elbow), carpal tunnel-type symptoms, thoracic outlet patterns, biceps tendinopathy, shoulder impingement, forearm/wrist overuse, hip flexor tension, sciatic symptoms, headaches from the neck, and all those stubborn repetitive strain issues.

My hands are ready, my brain is full, and your sticky spots don’t stand a chance. 🔑😌

🚨Professional development alert🚨

About a month ago, I spent a week in New Orleans at the 7th International Fascia Research Congress! So much research! So much anatomy and highly-specific presentation of science and theory! But also some time to practice hands on technique (see photo of working with scar tissue) and taking in the culture of the city (my first time visiting!)… So many takeaways to try to absorb, but the two I’ll highlight here are: some interesting work coming out of UC Davis from Dr. Keith Baar around optimal conditioning/healing of connective tissues, and the growing awareness strict anatomy structuralists should be having around the role the autonomic nervous system is playing in affecting fascia/soft tissue health—Dr. Porges’ Polyvagal Theory being a central framework in this perspective.

Can’t wait to attend again at the next one in three years!
