As a wellness professional, part of my job entails health education. Preventative care is a big part of staying healthy. Here are a few simple things we can remember to do to help stay healthy:
-Get active: Even just a few minutes of physical activity everyday can make a big difference:
Yoga, stretching, even a walk around your neighborhood can do wonders for your mind and body.
-Drink plenty of water: Staying hydrated can prevent headaches as well as help us to stay fit and reach weight goals
-Floss your teeth everyday: It’s easy to remember to brush our teeth but flossing is just as important and will help keep your teeth strong and gums healthy
-Take some deep breaths through your nose: When you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed, take a moment to take a few big deep breaths all the way in, then all the way back out. This will get more oxygen to your brain and help you feel less anxious
