Im moving out of my office and letting go of having a full time professional space to nest in. Of all the things—and there are many—my thoughts board…ahhh…it’s been such a holding space. Time and again it has brought me to a grounding with inspiration, memories, ideas, concepts, notions of people whom I care deeply about, etc. I’m going to miss having one physical space for my work. I also am ready for this next phase of presence in myself and all the spaces I find my soul and body in. As I go through this transition I feel certain I’ll learn ways of being in touch with grounding differently…and this too will be a gift.

This is it: my research study: I am interviewing California resident participants of process oriented group therapy (can be training groups) to find out more about their experiences dealing with differences within group. Participants need to be 21+, CA residents and in a group therapy container for 6+ months. If this is you or someone you know, I’d be grateful if you would help spread the word. The qr code in the flier with take you to the screening survey. Thank you for helping spread the word! I think this study will truly help amplify the benefits of group therapy and also help facilitators learn more about holding containers with regard to differences in identities and social status. Thank you!

Ok, y’all! I did it with my incredible team. I have advanced in my phd program from being a student to being, “all but dissertation” or a phd candidate!! Learning through a critical s*xualities framework and being q***r and feminist oriented, I feel in touch with my younger nyc public school self who was hungry to learn more…to stop going to school to be babysat. I have finally found a home in scholarship and with colleagues who rock solidly. I am working with scholars who actually care about how we think, why we are investing time where we are, and how to poignantly make our work matter towards greater social wellness. I still have about two years left…fyi…but all the same, this is a big milestone! *xualitystudies

Thank you for the honor of being awarded the trends in psychotherapy groups and psychotherapy processes award for my dissertation proposal. To be a phd student during mid life and learn how to work through a multidisciplinary lens where investigating how s*xuality and power collide within therapeutic spaces has been an honor of a lifetime. Group psychotherapy can be an emergent strategy () towards greater social wellbeing. I aim to explore how and under what circumstances engaging in discussions of s*xualities identity differences and social status are reported as significant and/or therapeutic. What’s the role of how s*xual fluidity is understood during these explorations? Is it, for instance, understood as an individual identity or something more complex related to context, time, and space? Holding and dealing with difference and social status and stigma matters tremendously materially and structurally. How to do it and what about these kinds of interpersonal experiences matter…this is what I will be looking at. Thank you again to IAGP and to my incredible team: , Dr, Michelle Marzullo, Dr. Erica Burman and Dr. Eve Watson
