Welp, I caught COVID during holiday travels. Me and everyone else it seems.
I can’t get vaccinated because of my medical conditions so getting sick was scary. But I’ve been prepping my body for this for months - years really.
The CDC has made it increasingly clear that they don’t really care about our health (something those of us with disabilities and chronic illness have known all along). And the resounding message throughout this pandemic has been that our only solutions are vaccines, masks, and staying home. While those are super important, we have so many other tools for staying healthy available to us. It’s about time we took our well-being into our own hands. In the hopes of helping y’all feel a bit more empowered and proactive, I thought I’d share some of the strategies that helped me get though this sickness.
These are just some basic strategies to help with mild COVID cases and to prevent catching it in the first place. There is SO much more I could say about this but I am trying to keep these resources broad. I didn’t include any prescription medications and didn’t even include ibuprofen because I avoid it and fever is rare with this variant. Those types of medications have an important place in treatment of COVID but it’s not my expertise so they’re not on this list. If you have questions or want more resources just shoot me a DM, I’m happy to share!
Take good care of yourselves and each other!!
