DPT Physical Therapy is now the official PT provider for Broadway in Detroit! We've already had the pleasure of supporting the incredible casts of The Addams Family, Parade, and Peter Pan - keeping them moving, grooving, and stage ready from behind the curtain. 💃🏻🕺🏻 Whether it's injury recovery or preventing those "break a leg" moments, we're here to make sure the shw goes on - safely and pain-free! We're honored to be part of the magic happening backstage and can't wait to continue helping Broadway performers bring their best to the stage! 🙌🎟️

Today we’re celebrating our intern Laila on her last day with us! 👏🏼

Laila first came to us as a patient, and it’s been such a full-circle moment having her on the team these past few months. She’s brought so much interest, kindness, and dedication to the clinic—and we’ve loved getting to watch her grow in this new role. 💪🏼🧠

She’s graduating from Berkley High School 🎓 and heading to Grand Valley State University this fall—GVSU is lucky to have her!

Laila, thanks for all your hard work. You’ll always have a place here at DPT, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for you 💙

May is Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) Awareness Month—But what is EDS?

The Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) are a group connective tissue disorders. The conditions are caused by genetic changes that affect connective tissue.

Each type of EDS has its own set of features with distinct diagnostic criteria. Some features are seen across all types of EDS, including joint hypermobility, skin hyperextensibility, and tissue fragility. Other symptoms are only observed in specific types of EDS.

Even within the same type of EDS, people can experience very different symptoms from each other.
