Tioga County Sheriff's Office has issued a Travel Advisory 1/25/26:

Due to the current weather conditions, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office has issued a travel advisory for Tioga County as of 9:30 AM today. Roads are extremely slippery. If you must travel, allow yourself extra time and proceed with caution. Stay tuned to local media outlets or NOAA radio for weather updates.

We are continuing to monitor the incoming weather … at this time, we recommend utilizing the pre-designated cooling locations as warming locations. Renewal Ranch in Owego Is also available, during their posted hours. Due to the accessed need, no shelters are being opened at this time.

Should power outages occur, the situation will be re-accessed, and short and long term options will become available- depending on outlook.

If individual emergencies occur, contact 607-687-1010 and you can be put in touch with on-call DSS who can determine if you qualify for additional services.ilable

Our latest forecast update did not result in much change in snowfall totals or timing, which will be late Saturday night through Monday. All of Central NY and Northeastern PA are under a Winter Storm Warning. Before we get to Sunday, we will see frigid conditions tonight and Saturday morning.

Description: WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY EVENING

WHAT...Widespread heavy snow with significant accumulations possible.

WHERE...Portions of central New York and northeast Pennsylvania.

WHEN...From late Saturday night through Monday evening.

IMPACTS...Heavy snow could make travel extremely difficult Sunday through Monday.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...At this time, the heaviest snowfall is forecast to be from the Twin Tiers southward, however, further adjustments to the storm track is likely in the coming days. Snowfall could be very heavy at times Sunday through Sunday night with hourly rates exceeding 1 inch per hour.
